Is it possible to change peoples homepages, or prompt them to change their homepage with a script?
This must be possible as i have been on plenty of sites that have a link or button saying 'make this your homepage'.
Here just found this on google:
Doesn't work with firefox.
"press the thanks button if you'd like"
Don't ask for thanks man, thats lame
yep...totally lame.....it is full here of people begging "HIT TANKS BUTTON PLEASE!!! HIT TANKS BUTTON PLEASE!!! HIT TANKS BUTTON PLEASE!!!"
They believe that number of thanks == e-peen size.
Well if anyone knows a more board way to change homepage or a exe file (idk that this is wise) option let me know.
Do you want a link that changes the home page or some kind of spyware thingy that does it with out the user permission.
If you want to do it without their permission then just change the text in the link so it looks like it does something else eg:
<a href="#" onClick="this.style.behavior='url(#default#homepag e)';this.setHomePage('www.yourdomain.com');">click here for a free iphone</a>
People will get seriously pissed off with you for it though, don't expect to get any trust from them or for them to buy anything from you afterward.
Just a thought, what if you put your ppc affiliate referal link instead of yourdomain.com. Then everytime they opened their browser they would earn you money. if you could get enough people to click that link you would clean up.
I might just check that out.
What do the rest of you think?
or has this been done before.
hmmm interesting combine this with clickjacking and you could do it without the users permission
Has anyone got the script to change firefox's homepage
If there was a script that worked with the big three browsers IE/FF/safari on that worked on the basis of
A script that worked for all of them, It could be sooo powerful. You could create a mini search engine with adwords and have some really really good recurring income.
thats feels like bullshit if you are hit with one of these..i got a damn thing infecting my browsers and no matter how many times i reset i got the same homepage again..no AV was able to detect it...finally i had to lay my hands dirty search and delte it from regestery manually...cant recall the url
There should be a code cause I noticed that my homepage on firefox keeps getting switched to msn.........pfffft! So possible that if MSN has found a way there should be one?
I don't know of any plugins, but you can do it pretty easily on your own.
i have been working on this for a while to...im getting close...
wil let you know when i got it done
