they say dont use scrapebox on your real site. write an article linking to your real site, then use scrapebox to promote the article.
What keyword do you use for your article when using scrapebox? do you use the keyword that you are trying to rank high for?
it seems to me promoting your article actually harms your site because
lets say you are trying to rank high for "web design San Francisco"
if you are using this to promote your article, then wouldnt your article end up coming higher in google for "web design san francisco", and as a result your real site ends up going lower?
    am i wrong?
how would google know that your main site is more important than your article when you keep promoting your article?

Ok i guess i wasnt clear with the question.
imagine there were only 2 results for "web design san francisco" your article, and your main website. if you keep promoting your article for this keyword, then your article keeps getting all these backlinks and therefore it will have a better chance at appearing in the top results than your main site.
So why would you promote your article, rather than your main site? seems like it would hurt your SEO.

You would use different keywords. Write articles for other related keywords you can rank for, link them all back to your main site which will help you ranking for the keyword your sites going for.
