    General Scrape Box Tip On Proxies
    ---------------------------------
    If your using addons, and various methods of posting/scraping, it is important to understand what is going on in the background, rather than just clicking and hoping. There are two reasons why;
    1. You will avoid getting your IPs blocked by sites
    2. You may save yourself hours upon hours of time
    Now you will be well aware that SB has an inbuilt proxy harvester, and the ability to use proxies. Some people seemed to think that USE PROXY is something you should have ticked all the time. It isn't, and heres why;
    Using Proxies WILL slow scrapebox down upto 50%, especially if your using publis proxies.
    However PLEASE don't stop reading now and go away to turn off proxies......that would be a really bad move.
    The reason you use proxies is to avoid certain websites/services blocking your IP address because you made thousands of requests. All the proxy function is doing is to spread those requests across mutiple IP addresses.
    So....if your scraping or harvesting or doing ANYTHING which requests information from the same source, you MUST have proxies turned ON. Another example would be the backlink checker addon (which queries yahoo.com).
    HOWEVER, if you are using an add-on such as 'backlink-extractor' there is no point whatsoever in using a proxy. Even with the built in checker, I don't believe there is any point in turning on proxies.....all it will do is slow the process down.
    As for the comment poster......my suggestion would be to leave proxies turned on...... as if your posting spam your IP may get added to a blacklist. If your planning to change your IP then fire away and don't worry about it.
    Hope that helps so of you.

    Not sure your right there mate. If you try to use the backlink checker add-on without proxies, you'll find it will stop working after a few seconds. The reason being that your basically hammering yahoo with hundreds of backlink check requests per second....they just block your IP.

    I use proxy for EVERYTHING. I never ever turn off proxies when I have scrapebox up. What if you forget 1 day to turn them back on? I would rather run everything 2-3 times through scrapebox to get it correct, than to not use proxies. My real IP doesn't need to be out there, even if its just my VPS ip.

    better to invest in 10-20 good proxies if you intend to blast to millions of sites, also change them every once in a while, most proxy companies have a randomization feature every 2 weeks or so. It keeps you from flying high above the radar or so it seems

    public for scraping

    private for commenting

    Why is this hard..There is no "slow down" in SB

    If you feel like its not "moving fast enough from one scrape to another" or "one massive task to the next" make a copy of SB and run another application and do what you have to do...
