I have owned a Scrapebox licence since 2010 but stopped using it in 2013.

I am thinking of reinstalling it on a VPS however, it is still as effective as it once was ?

I know there are plugins etc but blog commenting has died.

What other uses are there for it ?

Blog posting is just one of hundreds of uses for Scrapebox. But you are right blog commenting is not a very effective SEO strategy anymore.

There are tonnes of other features now each of have a huge amount of applications. Here is a VERY short list:

    Find expired domains
    Crawl and scrape for emails
    Analyse competitor backlinks
    Rank tracking
    You can submit contact forms
    Find do-follow backlinks
    Find broken links
    Custom data scrapes

and you can automate everything uses the Automator plugin.

This is literally a 15-second list. I recommend reinstalling Scrapebox and taking a look through all the addons/plugins and use your imagination to apply these features to what you are interested in.

Blog commenting was only a small fraction of what Scrapebox could do back then and its like a fraction of a fraction of 1% of what scrapebox can do now. I don't know numbers, but a huge percentage of the people using scrapebox never use it to build a single link. Its not a link building program, its the swiss army knife of SEO.

I mean it can build links on over 30 platforms, but its not the primary focus.

If I typed for a hour Id scratch the surface, Ive got over 100 videos on my channel, so perhaps you can get some ideas there:
