    Depends on the proxy
I always had 1 question in my mind.. It's kinda difficult to frame this question but still I will try... Here it goes......... :D

We all know and we all use public proxies for harvesting urls.. Now imagine a scenario where we are using public proxies for harvesting urls and a particular proxy died when working on a particular keyword..

Question is, what will REALLY I mean REALLY happens to that keyword? Will that keyword be used by another proxy to harvest urls from search engine? Or that particular KEYWORD will be SKIPPED??

Thank you for your time for reading this..... :D

I don't know the technical answer for this. Logically, it should be re-queued to another proxy, but I've experienced what seems to be the opposite effect. I actually tested it at one point on a fairly large keyword list. While I blew through the list very quickly on public proxies, it went pretty slow with my private proxies (URL/s was higher). With the public proxies, I was getting several million less results than with the private proxies, however.

It's not really an answer, just an observation. I'm curious about the technical side of this, but I only have experience to work with as I'm definitely not a programmer. For now, I try to harvest with private proxies as often as possible.

Are you trying to say that you are getting several million "LESS" results than with the private proxies??

That was what I said... :p

Anyways, it's just my own experience. My public proxies were around the 500-600ms access time point, but they would randomly go dead as most public proxies do so at the end I still had a lot of failed.

If you click on settings you should see

    "adjust multi-threaded harvester proxy retries"

It has a slider so you can tell scrapebox how many bad proxies to go through before it gives up and moves on to the next keyword. At least that is my understanding anyway.

I think it's just all about proxy retries... But it doesn't say anything about keyword... :| don't know what it is and how it is...

If the proxy dies DURING harvesting, SB won't know that it has died, but continue scraping. But since the proxy is dead, it will ultimately timeout, and hence, the harvester will move on to next keyword.
