I have a few decent public proxy sources, however, am I right in saying, just because SB says a public proxy has a ping/latency of say 200, it won't necessarily always be that quick, as other people could start using it in the next 5-10 minutes...

Whereas a private proxy will keep the latency due to only 1 person using it and that's one of the reasons why private are so much quicker?

Can someone who is using private proxies give me some idea how quickly it takes to post/comment to X blogs and how with how many connections.

I've just done a blast of 315,000 which pretty much took 24 hours - this is with public proxies so would be wanting a comparison. This is using 30 connections.

I use private proxies and with 50 connections I do 50-120 comments per minute

I'm doing about 215 per minute, but I do only use 30 connections. I've found 30 to get more successes over 50 but may have to test this again.

If you are using private proxies, I would use the same number of connection as proxies because you get the highest success rate possible.

If I am using public proxies, I know a lot are going to fail the first time, so I just go as fast as possible and post several times to the same list. So, if I can gather a few hundred private proxies I would use a few hundred connections or even twice that.

From my experience, those are the ways to get either the highest success rate (which is slow) or the most links per hour (which is super fast but has a low success rate)

Public proxies are free. That's the only benefit.

But they are very slow and cause a low success rate. I prefer private proxies and gladly pay for it. It saves me a lot of time and trouble.

Yes, private are better, but you can A LOT more public proxies at one time, so sometimes that outweighs the fact that they are slower and less successful.

But you also have to scrap them regularly (like once a day), which takes time.

I would just get 10 or so private if you want to try them out. squidproxies is as good a place as any. mazgalici (on here and fiverr) can some shared proxies which also work well and cost a little less.

Unfortunately, if you aren't making money yet, there is no point to running SB faster, so I wouldn't go overboard with private proxies. It would be great to buy a lot of them, but if you can't turn them into profit, then don't go there yet.

If you are doing SEO "casually", you can do everything you need to with public proxies - just spend a few minutes to get new ones every day, and don't just rely on the built in sources...there are additional proxies listed in this forum and others every day.

    Take a guess
I use public proxies and I'll probably switch to private ones soon. But what happens if I use my own IP for a couple K posts?
It's just so incredibly much faster. If I ping for example, with proxies it takes minutes and minutes for 7K pings and that's with a shitty success rate.. When I ping with the same settings but with my IP it's just a matter of seconds to ping almost 7K times.

    Muchacho,

I made the switch from public proxies to private proxies (For Blog Commenting) about a month ago. The difference is night and day. While the speed increased the posting success skyrocketed. I usually do a list of 150,000 URLS at a time (to prevent crashing). On public proxies it would take about 6-7 hours run through the list once and the average success rate of about 10-20%. With private proxies (10 on 50 Connections) the time dropped down to about 4-5 hours each list and 60%+ success rate.

I will stick with private proxies now for blog commenting. Keyword scraping/Blog Harvesting I still use public proxies.

    Best of luck,
    GoldenGlovez

I get 50-60% with public proxies. If you have 10% success rate you need a better source of public proxies or some tweaking of the scrapebox.

Additionally if you do another run with good public proxies you will get another 50% out of failed list. Which sums up to 75-80% of the original list.

I think I'll stick with public ones for now.

What latency do people go for? I try and go for under 800, which I can get after checking a few thousand proxies.

What's the difference between Socks and http proxies with regards to quality/speed?
