Unless you have a lot of proxies, you are probably still going to burn them up if it's a big list.

So you're saying that I can't check the pr because the sites have banned my proxy ips?
Is this a temporary ban for a couple hours? Did they also ban them from posting to their site then?

Google will ban the ip from querying for around 3 hours (that's the number I've always heard). I have ten private proxies and they are only good for a few thousand. Many of those show as N/A and in an ideal world, those N/A would need to be run through again.

I often use the Fake PR Checker to run lists of expiring domains from the TDNAM addon. The lists are usually over 100K and with ten proxies I usually only get through a few thousand before they start to error out. I usually just do it again the next day. I rarely try again a few hours later, but I suppose I could.

Why not use public proxies and get it done now? Whenever I'm extensively scraping/utilizing Google I'll harvest fresh proxies and use those for my endeavors, especially when checking PR in bulk.

Thanks. So I should just use my private proxies for fast/slow commenting, and the public proxies for everything else?

Also, I heard someone say not to use any at all for link checking, is that true? Why?
