Scrapebox Link Checker - Priv or Public proxies?

    is it safe to use private proxies (10) when using link checker? or should i just keep those for posting only?

    The link checker downloads the page and looks at the source code. I don't see any reason for a webmaster to go through his server logs banning IPs that do that. Unless you are rechecking the links every 5 seconds or something, you should be fine without proxies.

    thanks. for some reason i thought that google was going to ban my proxies had i used my private proxies for link checker. can i get a confirm that that wont happen?

    I check with my proxies turned off. Way faster ;)

    Faster for me too.

    Be careful if you are running it on your home computer - it's a bandwidth eater. I think you still have to turn it on manually in the scrapebox.ini config file, at least SB support told me it didn't do it automatically even if "Use Proxies" was checked a few weeks ago.

    I turn it off then get banned after 1st run so if I wanna check multiples then I am left in the cold :(.

    Hence why I'm rezzing an old thread trying to find solutions.

    I think if you checking links from different IP's you can no use proxies

    I use public proxies & private mixed together when checking. That way mine don't get burned and it goes a little faster than it would if it were all public.

    Agreed with guys above. Do not use proxies when checking links.
