I have zero knowledge on SEO, so please forgive my ignorance with these questions. As I understand it, building backlinks are an effective tool in improving your rankings in the search engines.

1)Backlinks can come in multiple forms but one of the more effective ways is to build them on forum profiles?

2)Both VenomSEO and Scrapeboard will create these forum based backlinks for you?

3)Which of these two would be the easiest for a completely unexperienced person such as myself to learn?

4)Which of these two tools is the most effective?

5)I also understand that backlinks can assist in Youtube videos to get listed on Google's search results? Is this the main factor that contributes to Google listing videos in the search results? Or do the comments, favorites, total views have more of an influence in Google determining which videos might be listed in the search results?

Thanks once again to all the great board members. BHW is like being back in school. Learning my lessons may not always be fun; sometimes it seems like a lot of work; but deep down I know that time invested in learning will eventually pay dividends.

From my experience (actually real world testing), forum profile links and blog comment spam are VERY overrated since Panda.

I would completely rethink your strategy before buying anything that helps build forum profiles.

Is social booking more effective in your opinion? If so, what service would you recommend?

You are looking at these all wrong. If you are very new, last thing you want is to use tools since you aren't going to learn, you don't know what these tools will do to your website since you are just doing random spam, and not all links are good for your website.

What you need to do is create your own links. Copy your competitor's profiles (not forum profiles) and bookmark them so you can do it again with other sites. Yahoo site explorer is really everything that you need. If you want a good tool that will not hurt your website and climb serps, you can get senukex which is $127.00 a month. But in reality manual linking beats every type of software or automation you will find.

    Hey Vacationdan!

I know it's hard to be new. There is so much info out there. I recommend you doing a couple of things:

    1) Quit reading too much on forums, blogs etc... and start thinking. About what?

    2) Well, think about creating a website on a topic that you like, build content around it yourself.

    3) After a couple of months enjoy the great feeling of your Page Rank increasing.

    4) While building content, learn good old white hat SEO first. On page SEO, off page SEO etc...

    5) Apply your knowledge to your site that you care about. Learn even more.

    6) Start a couple of other sites and experiment with SEO. And after a year or so, there might have come the moment where you should consider buying a tool.

    7) Then learn about black hat SEO. :)

    Just my 2 cents.
