    To simplify...

I'm paying affiliates when they make a sale. I send them the money through PayPal.

I file a Schedule C for my business. Do I need to 1099 these people, which sounds like a pain in the A or can I just write these affiliate payments off as an expense of some sort on the Schedule C to reduce my taxable income..?

I don' t think that you file a schedule C when you own LLC. But anyway all business related expenses can be filed on your tax declaration.

If they are in the USA you absolutely need W-9s and you need to send them 1099s.

You're not a kid playing in a sandbox, you are a businessman and that is just part of life now.
