ok well this is my dilemna. i know most of the companies require you to talk to the manager on the phone or whatever -but this is exactly what i'm afraid of. What do i say? Im afraid im just gonna tense up and not know what to say. Can anyone give me some advice on how to get through one of the phone call interviews??

Its not as bad as you think. They WANT you to make money for them. You make money - they make money. They are happy.

Just stick with the old I do PPC with first second and third tier search engines. And toss in some media buying as well. Say you prefer whatever type of offers...such as dating or freebies or diet, however you really go with whatever is hot at the moment that you can match with a traffic source that works. This way you leave yourself open to running any type of offer, without having to prove much. Say you cultivate your campaigns based on the offer and target market, as opposed to only doing one thing over and over again.
You'll be okay. Breathe :)

Yeah man I got the phone call from Andrew (neverblue) too... he asked alot of detail questions. i told him i have some experience of cpa and he asked me what offers from other companies are doing well for me. he even asked me to show him my landing page! of coures i was just BS-ing so my application was denied.

guys just always be prepared for the phonecall. anticipate everything. click on the links that mutantseed has provided above.

I dunno my AM called me out of the blue and it was real easy :)

Trust me man I was so nervous, but it was actually not that bad,
some tips, if you say PPC say you link straight to advertiser= no demands for landing page.
I guess it all depends on your AM...

If you can say what wiredmom said (in your own words) you'll have no problem. Half the time they never even call, or someone will leave you a message for you to call them back. Just call them back! Write some notes down and keep them on the desk where you can refer to them if you think you'll need them. Rather than wait and worry about call, make the call yourself you're just another name to scratch off their list of calls. They do want to approve you.

:callyou: After your first call you'll know that you can handle any other calls. After 3 or 4 calls you'll be sounding like a pro, more than that you'll wonder why you were even worried about it. Some places are not going to accept you anyway, could be your traffic is not sufficient, your business is too new, etc. - just accept it and move on to the next one.

Usually when they call me I just tell them I am busy at the moment and to call me back later, they usually say "OK, I will create your account and call back tomorrow". I have only had 1 network actually call back, while the others I would just send an email to the affiliate manager thanking them for creating my account.

I dealt with Azoogle and COPEAC and Max Bounty and others on the phone just make sure you have a half decent looking web page. Say I was referred by ...... choose a popular name and act suprised if they don't know them.

Or you spoke to their rep at the (pick oneof the affiliate shows) but you lost his card and only just got round to calling. This also works for trying to get JV partners who remembers everyone they spoke to at a conference.

Then if your knew say I am fairly new to CPA as such but I have been succesful selling products with Amazon, CJ and other affiliate networks. But I think I could do pretty well with some zip submits or your (choose niche) offers. Look like you speak the jargon.

If asked budget say around $100 a day but you'll be using around 50% of your profit to increase your ad spend. You have found a range of offers work and that you like to try and focus on targeted traffic for any offer rather than general traffic.

Check out a few of their offers and pick 2-3 you like and use them as examples. Or some from other networks is just as good.

If needed create a landing page just copy one or two you'll find out there and what really gets them playing for you is a domain name for one of the offers you are just dying to try out.

eg http://www.weightlossfor porkers.com (you get the idea)

Sound like you are doing them the favor not the other way round. If you sound lost they'll sense something wrong and think not worth the hassle.

Another good ploy is always use an Ansaphone so you have time to prepare your reply and not caught on the hop. Follow these guidelines and those you already have from the various links provided and most networks will welcome you with open arms.

If they turn you down just say what would you need to accept my application as I am really keen to get working with you and your company. Flattery works wonders and you have only let them close the door not slam it shut.

Once you fullfill their request call back and say you have called because they told you to and have what they asked for... That will get you in 2nd time 99 times out of 100.

It works for anything even if they can't remember you they will find it hard to admit it and if they do just act shocked and saddened by their lack of memory.

Don't be scared, they call you up ask a few simple questions, get off the phone with you and bam...your approved. Its not that hard!

I got approved by neverblue no problem. (Tina... she's recently moved up and I have a new affiliate manager now) The interview was around 12 minutes and was pretty detailed.

A few recommended things I would have is:

- set up a decent looking website 20x pages is a plus but, should be a minmum of 5
- tell them your 'grand master plan' of how you plan to drive traffic
- they will ask you what kind of ads do you think you'd like to offer (pick something related to your sites niche if possible or as mentioned above suggest an idea and say something like you've heard a lot about all of their offers and that you want to try offer types x,y, and z in order to maximize performance.)

Confidence is something that they (Never Blue) will really look for! If you make them feel like you'll be making loads of cash by having 'your site + their great offers' then they will get excited too and are likely to perform.

~ Hope this helps

PS: I loved the medical excuse.

yo shamster25 i had the same problem honestly. I HOPE YOU READ MINE SHAMSTER25

what i did was i just got the AMs AIM sn for m@xb0unty and talked to him on aim. I had NO website at all at that point. Only a domain name. And over aim it was easy to talk i just said yea i'm developing it into (inserted a webpage i hoped to build someday here) a tech blog. When he asked me what kind of traffic i was going to be getting, and what offers i wanted to run. I said tech related traffic, and ringtone offers (popular at the time). then he said no i mean is it incentive traffic, and i didnt know what he meant so he just explained it and i replied that the only incentive would be getting the ringtone. so he said ok not incentive traffic. he was pretty cool toward a noob (although i've been into IM on and off for about 7 years) like me.

anyway this is turning into a long post.. id try that to build some confidence first earn some money then when u get that first taste of money u will be hungry to get into more cpa networks. now i love interviewing with the networks cuz i have nothing to worry about. and i've realized that they aren't out there to deny ppl a chance, if u ask for a bit of guidence i'm sure they wouldn't mind.

at xy7 my interview lasted like 30-40 mins cuz we got into this good conversation about how cool it is to be doing IM now a days and how it differs from the past. and he was all telling me how he could have been a millionaire if he would have gotten into this thing back in the day when it was early. he even mentioned knowing harro when he got it out of me that i was a part of blackhatworld. (for some reason i wanted to hide that, but when he found out he was just more welcoming).

try to get into one thru aim chat or w/e its a lot easier, just let them know what kinda plans u got; don't even gotta be big. i dunno if its better for u to face the fear, or work around it. i worked around it then my confidence grew and the fear dissolved. now a phone call from them its fun (especially the hot cpa managers... omg..) and makes my confidence grow even more!

Guys I Need Your Help I Applied On Azoogle Yesterday I Think They Will Call me Today So I Am Scared What Will They Ask Me I Gave Them My Cousin's Website As Secondary Site So What Do U Think What Will They Ask And What Should I Tell Them How Will I Promote Them And Which Category Etc.http://muskurahat.com

I used to be very nervous about these phone calls aswell. Dont worry is it something that you get used to, and in the business world you should get used to these kind of situations. Best advice is say you promote with PPC mostly and sometimes banner advertising. I also say i have some pretty large double opt in email lists. One thing I also do is let them call and leave me a message, that way I can call them back on my own terms, when I am prepared. I have never been turned down by a AM. O another thing you should do is get yourself a nice corporate looking website.

I got through four interviews recently with major networks, all in one day...

Registered a company in the US, got an address, phone number, the EIN number for the company and basically all the shit needed,,, then used that for registration.

I'm not an american and don't even live in the US. I even registered from where I am based now (a country not allowed by most networks)... they have my registration IP and know that... but still got through!

Key is:

- Confidence and Good Voice Tonality
- Having a good story to back you up (in my case was in a biz trip, and if it'd be a prob, we can wait till I get back to the states and apply from there *BS* ... most will approve anyway).
- Persistence (even if you were denied first time, harass their a**es through email, AIM, phone or whatever available... make it clear you want in no matter what, and that you'll do whatever it takes to solve the prob... got into two networks that denied me that way).
