Ok.... so how the fuck am I even supposed to cope with this loss? I am so pissed off at the person that scammed me but legally there is nothing worthy I can do.

    Anyone with similar experiences?

It's the usual, deliver the "goods", upfront payment not even close to covering expenses, rest of money never seen. Funny thing is I trusted this person because I know every single detail about him, where he lives, where he works, who is his girlfriend, his family, his business partners, his business. But yet there is nothing I can legally do and neither do I want to go down the revenge path. :/

If its legal get a lawyer involved. If its illegal then you should know what your options are. If you cant do any of those then I guess you just have to learn from the mistake and never deliver anything to anyone in the future before they have paid for it - unless its value is something you can afford to lose.

Sounds like bullshit mate, there are numerous things you can do legally and if somebody ripped me off high 5 figures then there would be some form of retaliation.

There are so many things you can do, talk to a no win/ no fee lawyer if you can't afford one.
Get a free consultation and they'll tell you if you can do anything or not.

Most of us here have been burnt that hard before, seo is the art of bullshit after all.

It is gray area, so it is not illegal, yet funny thing is this person is involved in other illegal things. But he doesn't feel intimidated, or he is just plain stupid. I figured after doing research on him, he runs a botnet/call-center/virus scam company and has proudly put it on his linked in. I was thinking of reporting him to FTC and FBI, but I doubt anything will come out of this.

Problem with hiring a lawyer is that a lawyer costs 150-500$ per hour in the US. If this case goes to court, it could easily cost me $50,000-$200,000+, even if I go full autism and read up on law my self and file for civil disputes court, the lost wages of spending on the case vs working on my business would still be too high. I done my research and it is not worth the risk of also losing in court because of some minor stupid detail and also having paid another fortune to get nothing.

    US legal system sucks.

There seem to be a lot of things that you can do that might not involve a lawyer. Get some intimidating guys and let them tell him to either get his shit together with you or you will drive his business to the ground. Maybe even send some proof or something similar you have on him that his business is illegal / a scam.

Or, you know, subscribe his email to gay porn sites. That always works.

Social media is built for this, just let everyone he knows know what he did on the most possible channels, he will pay up sooner than later unless he doesn't care about his reputation.

yeah i lost 1k in business when i started out doing e-commerce because i offered "invoice payment" in germany (you get the invoice, then you pay, about 50% of all e-commerce shops offer this in germany) because i believed everybody would pay. those 1k loss was because 8 people didnt pay their goods. trying to get that kind of money is not worth the time as i'd have to file each one individually at court and it was just not worth the trouble for me as a small business. since them i only work on upfront paymend / creditcard / paypal ect. things which guarantee my payment.
