$300 isn't much, but PayPal is persistent and stingy with negative balances. I've never had it happen to me myself, but chances are they'll try and contact you to get information on how they can get their money. Like every other business, they still worry about the little things!
Do you know if they're likely to contact the police? i preferably would not pay it but if the alternative is the police, I'll just have to.
I have -$500 on my primary account in the last 2 years and I do just fine, no debt collector, police, etc.
Agree with flipitup, I also have a Paypal account and it has $750 in negative form last 1+ years, but still all fine.
Thanks guys that does make me feel better, mine being a UK shouldn't really make a difference should it? Since you guys seems to be talking in dollars.
It also depends where you live and their accessibility to gain your personal information and to contact the appropriate legal authorities. A few years ago i know of some people buying and selling virtual items and many of them have been had negative balances as a result of 'charge-backs' on paypal. They will give you a phone call (if they have access to it) warning you to make your balance positive or even or might have some nasty looking people at your door-step.
