The stuff that is sent to you is paid for with a stolen credit card and then they have you forward it to them so you are the middle man running their stolen goods.

The packages could have drugs in them for all you know...... but most likely illegal goods... like stolen stuff or whatever...

They get you to do the shit for them, the sending address is traced back to you, and you get fucked over... the scammer on CL gets away with it, and moves on to the next stupid person to do this for him.

I know of people who have ordered directly to their home address with stolen CCs and they never got caught for it. In fact in UK, a crime like that will at the most give you community service if you're a first time offender. Unless you're shifting goods in the millions, the feds (po-po, cops) won't give a rat's arse as that is a CC fraud from some website. The whole procedure takes so long and the % of solving the crime is actually quite low.

They use a proxy that'll lead to nowhere. They use your address...If the cops show up at your address and it has been signed for, you tell them it wasn't yours, so you don't have it anymore. What happened to it? You threw it away. Evidence lost. They can't issue a warrant to go search your house if it has only been a one-off.

What OP could do if he applied for such job of being a "middle-man" would just be to keep the goods. There isn't much loss to the CC-thieves...He would have gained an item...And the insurance company/bank would get fucked - Those are the real losers.
