Ok so I am brand new to this forum.

I am what you might call a 'White Hat' Social Media and business building guy (especially LinkedIn).

I have a company that runs events in the Professional Space. We also have online and offline programs such as Brand Accelerators and training programs on Social Selling etc.

In four years I used my personal LinkedIn profile to launch this business. I have a bunch of full time staff and some offshore people.

Now I want to use my skill and my knowledge to scale....

I manually built my LinkedIn profile to over 10,000 and built relationships with those people. However my account is restricted (I need email addresses to send invites).

I could use my LinkedIn connections to have the account unblocked (it is past what a ticket will do). However for my strategy this is not really an obstacle.

The plan basically goes like this.

Have created accounts connected with targeted profiles / scrapes. I have two accounts that have 12,000 connections between them (which were created using VA's).

Data match those profiles (I have created a formula which I can have VA's do). Essentially I have them analyse a whole range of characteristics about the profile. I started using tags in LinkedIn for this but currently using a spreasheet based data base.

For example are they a 'decision maker' 'business owner' 'Active on Social Media' 'Profession' etc. These things are not usually visible from scraped data and it takes a human to compare to the formulas I have created to get the most accurate data.

Higher value profiles are then elevated to a more trained local team member for assessment and further tagging / classification.

Essentially we can then sort based on who the person is, how they think and their position / ability to make decisions.

From this I have created formulas to be able to estimate budget / triggers / likelyhood to buy etc.

It is the data I am interested in primarily. When I know who someone is, what they want and how they think I can reach them in numerous ways. But the data is relatively worthless without the email address for 2 reasons.

    1) Email is a part of the relationship warming process. (always warmed before 'pitched' anything.)

    2) Email for LinkedIn has a high match for Facebook profiles (creating targeted audiences). I don't use this to pitch either but to promote good content. (pitch is only done via retargeting).

    3) I can add the highest value accounts as they are sorted up the pyramid to my personal Profile (through their email address)

    4) Other high value profiles can be batch imported to my Sales Team via email

    Relationship Management

    • It's all in what you say and the value you provide.
    • Every connection to a real team member gets a nice follow up message and personal feeling video (short and no pitch).
    • This needs to be automated (as the VA process I have been using is klunky)
    • Good content shared consistently
    • Highly focused messaging to connections based on the combination of tags they carry
    • We don't send messages from fake accounts (too risky to relationships, they are just used to collect and sort profiles)
    Automation

    1) Linked Dominator

The best overall program we have tested to date is Linked Dominator. It has the broadest features and is the fastest. The trouble shooting / tech support is good.

However the training and instruction guides are basic. For example the video might say 'choose the options you want'. However to date we have not been able to find what those options actually do.

I am going to include detail here in this guide, so that hopefully it will help the developer and perhaps some of you can answer more of the questions.

So far one of the things I was most interested in 'scraping group' members doesn't seem to function.

    The greatest limitations of all so far are;

    1) The ability to scrape location data for your own connections. (A very important Tag for messaging)

    2) No ability to scrape the tags of your connections or to add tags to connections (see linkedomata )

    2) Linkedeep

This is an interesting web app that seems to function pretty well for actually helping to manage profiles (a little slow for mass scaling). However this may be something that we use for our team members actual profiles.

It does auto messaging etc. It also sends connection requests that are loaded up over the course of a day.... and ques tasks. Essentially this would like to LinkedIn much more like a normal human I think.

    3) Linked Engine

Uses a browser based instance of LinkedIn with the program as an overlay. Scraping etc requires the actual interface. Makes things very slow.

So far I have not been able to make it function properly.

    4) Linkedomata

We have not tested this yet however it has some very interesting functionality.

It also appears to use a web browser instance (which may make scraping far slower than Linked Dominator)

However... and this is massive... it scrapes LinkedIn TAGS. You can also upload a whole bunch of URL's and add them to a Tag on LinkedIn. You can then message people based on those specific tags.

    5) Proxies

Using private proxies in conjunction with

    Linked Dominator

    and for browser based interaction

    multiloginapp

Each proxy assigned to a different profile in both.

    Objectives

Plan in first stage scaling of this is to have 10 accounts adding targeted connections at 60 a day (not sure how to do more / avoid captcha).

That means about 500 new connections a day for first phase.

Filtered to team members that will likely be about 250 after filtering and sorting / connecting.

Conversion rate for targeted profiles to team members is pretty high, say 5% per year. With a very significant lifetime value. Let's say average year 1 earning at $4k. But I'm guessing... since my numbers were better and this is about scaling beyond that.

Before you ask a question or post a comment

    • I have nothing to sell here and nothing to prove.
    • I don't care if you think I suck (just don't read this)
    • I am sharing because I am new to BH (I only started my homework on this 5 days ago) and I could use some input into what I am doing and to help people who want to learn from me in return.
    • I am a real business guy, I don't need to BS and this is not just about $$ to me
    • I'm super busy and some days or even weeks I may be back to back with zero no sleep time to spare.

A little LinkedIn advice to start for BHW.

No one really seems to be doing much here with LinkedIn and yet the people on LinkedIn are the decision makers and have the money to spend (and will spend it). Most of you will not need to be replicating the kind of scale I'm talking about here. However, the principles will work even if it is just you and your LinkedIn account and following the steps manually. The first few million of revenue for my Business were created with me building my LinkedIn profile mannually.

First up, everything I have read on here so far is all about 'numbers' with the idea of getting to pitch people fast and do it as a numbers game.

I want you to remember something.... selling is about people, relationships and trust.

I can sell almost anything to the right person... because 1) They are the right person (what I have to sell is legitimately going to help them). 2) Because I have established trust.

Where people go wrong is that they think that you can't automate and scale these things.... (you can).

If you are trying to harvest leads on LinkedIn, you have a tough gig. People are very resistant to spam or offers of service.... you have to earn the right before they will even take notice.

So I create automated campaigns and process to build relationships.

Because I never 'burn' the connection, what happens is that more of those connections become clients / customers in the second year than they did in the first.

What's more if you bring them products / services that are good and help them, they will buy again and again.

Top Tips for LinkedIn - Summary

    • Build relationships... and let buyers come to you
    • Stand out with a real profile that shows the 'human'
    • High value products work better than low value.
So why am I using BH?

Becuase, I don't follow rules... I follow what's right and it's up to me to decide that.

There are many people on LinkedIn who need my and my teams help. Because of Spamming, LinkedIn makes it very hard to manage a large network without using nonconforming methods.

I need to be able to message people, manage contacts, automate responses and bypass limits on being able to connect.

I need to collect vast amounts of data to be able to classify, who the right people are who most need our services.

On the plus side for LinkedIn... we don't spam, we create great content and have a massive amount of value to give.

Why Should you follow my Threads?

    • Because I am a real business person
    • I don't give a shit about the money, I care about the outcome
    • I have nothing to sell you and nothing to prove to you
    • Because LinkedIn is only the start and you will see me evolve it to other areas (if this community proves worth my time)

    Who should follow my Threads?

    • People who are not negative - if you want to Troll or disbelieve just go somewhere else.
    • People who want to learn the nuances that make the difference between activity and results
    • People willing to do enough of the work to make it work for them
    • Real entreprenuers that want to build sustainable models not just short term revenue projects.

    Update on Project

Mostly just setting up systems. Now have 5 Aged accounts (I forgot we had some dummy profiles setup for some training we did). All adding atm 60 Targeted Connections per day.

The key to good results on this is the quality of the profiles... even though we are not using them to message or build relationships, they need to stand up to scrutiny. Decision makers on LinkedIn are smart.... This means taking a lot of time to setup each profile (not farming it out).

    Linked Dominator

This is still my main issue, as I don't understand the philosophy behind the program it is hard to understand the mechanics behind how it works.

I admit one of the reasons for posting here was to bypass the normal obstacles.

I have now made contact with IndianBill and am speaking directly to the development team. I have offered to help with the learning / onboarding material in exchange for more direct intel / access.

Overall their product is I believe undervalued and underexecuted.

very intersting journey. I'm thinking of using LinkedIn for selling my wp themes. What do you think? I'm thinking to apply the same plan but with only one account for the begining and after I master how to use it to scale it. Thanks you for starting this topic.

I think that is a good idea. But perhaps do it mannually to begin with, using your personal account. The idea with LinkedIn is to use your profile to build trust. You can use the software but be careful not to have your personal account blocked.

When sending a connection request you need to cover the key things they will be thinking. 1)How did you find me 2)What do you want 3)Are you going to be pushy. Address this with something like. 'Hey I stumbled on your profile, you look like a good person to know and I figured I would shoot you an invite to connect. Is that ok?

Of course if you then nail them with a spam message, then your work is undone.

The follow-up message should NOT be a pitch. I follow up personally with something like. Hey, thanks for connecting. I love to network and help people where I can, so I filmed a short video to introduce myself. Check it out (but be kind) and let me know a little about you.

I plan to use the software to also automate the new connection follow up message (but having a few issues with LinkedIn updates ATM).

    UPDATE ON PROJECT

Not too much to add as I have been away for the last 5 days.

Mostly I am working out the mechanics of the Dominator software, it has a lot of idiosyncrasies to work out and I am noting them down with my team so that we can help their with their support material. IndianBill has given me a lead contact with his devel team.

We have added around 400 new connections on various accounts.... doesn't seem like a lot but getting things nailed down and bearing in mind the ROI for what we are doing is pretty high and conversion numbers are also high because the process is very targeted.

Have also had myself and another team member categorise all 15+k of my own connections. A massive job considering the detail we have created with the tags. That way I can be VERY personalised to select groups.

    LINKEDIN UPDATE ISSUE

The main issue we are having is that LinkedIn has brought out a new interface and it has been rolled out to a number of the accounts we are using. This means that any account with the update will not work with Linked Dominator. I have been told it should take the developers about a week to make the updates to enable this to work.

Really this is going to slow the project down a little as until the transition is complete we are not going to be able to have a full run at this.

What do you think about after connecting with them to ask them if they want to send a worpress theme in case they want to redesign the website, of course will be free, or I can evaluate their website concerning the SEO and what should they do to increase the traffic.. Do you think is too pushy?
