And it was in your niche.. has great stats (was a major player's legit site).. has 1000 RD, many from wikipedia, major news sites, etc. I couldn't find any evidence of spam.

How much would you pay? I've never purchased a big ticket domain through an auction.

It would probably be my money site... or I'd just have it kick super ass in my pbn.

(sorry for the noob post, I'm trying to absorb all of BHW's knowledge as fast as possible)

Does the niche have potential, I'd go for it if so. Without knowing too much could you build an amazon affiliate store with it?

Awesome, I guessed 1/4 of that.. but it does make sense. Now I need to get some balls I guess.

Definite potential.. but possibly way too much of an uphill battle. I just ran more analysis on the competition.. I used to work for one, at the time they were doing 1m page views / mo. and they're in second place to another site.

I am afraid it will go even higher than $1K. Lately I've seen some 200RD domains to go for $500+. This can get up to 2K+ no problem. You should set up a budget and not go higher than that, because domain auction market is absolutely crazy nowadays.

If it's going to be too much of a battle as a money site, then it's got massive potential as a PBN more your main money site.

Other option is sell links on there as blogposts maybe, but restrict this to a dozen at most.

Year ago if you spent $10,000 on expired domains you could sell them for $50,000. It's like the stock market lol.

Another factor.. wayback machine was blocked.. is that typical of major sites? or possible spammer covering their tracks?

I was able to find a different archive from 2014, but nothing in between..

I've been sifting through anchor text, ref domains and outbound links.. but not finding anything fishy.

i love auctions, bought some domains for $5 and for few $$k, depending on the stats
the most expensive is the one that had nearly 100k traffic!
