Technically speaking , They have enough money to buy it for that price !
Will they spend 150B$ to save the troubles , that's another story as we all know that bullets cost way cheaper :) and you don't need to get fancy to kill protesters , any bullet will do :)

sarcastic : saying things that are the opposite of what you mean, in order to make an unkind joke or to show that you are annoyed.

Meeh, the saudis already figure out that its not gonna work, once they buy FB and shut it, another one pops out. Last thing I heard they were in discussion with Al Gore to buy the internet instead, Al would even throw in a method to calm the crowd called "global warming scare" for free if the saudis act now. The method is pretty saturated but Al promised to show the saudis some new twists to make it works.

Saudi King could just follow what china did. They can simply block facebook for very little price.

No man in his right mind would buy facebook for $150billion just to shut it off. That money could make a lot of difference if used in the right way.

Another thing is, Facebook is value at only 60-70bln, so to pay for twice than what it's worth on the market would be ridiculous in itself.

Plus, anyone with business knowledge would know that if you own 50+% of a corporation or a controlling stake, you can do whatever you want with it, because legally it's yours more than anybody elses. This would be far cheaper because yo ucould buy say 36 bln worth of Facebook stock and have absolute control over it.

That's almost 5x less than what the article states.

Yes I know it's a spoof article to begin with, but I'm just throwing that out there! lol.
