Hey I am wondering about playing with domain names using a . inbetween words using a subdomain but making it the main page.

For example sat.ellite.com I am guessing google sees this word as sat and ellite and doesn't rank you for satellite? Correct?

But how about satellite.provider.com, this would rank for the term satellite provider right?

All the domains are bought up these days, so just thinking of ways to put a spin on a domain name so I don't need to pay for a premo name.

the split name won't rank for anything. it's what u put on the site and the SEO that u do that will make it rank. it's creative but neither google or any other engine will see a split word as equal to that word.

I figured as much for the first one of splitting a word,
it would be more used for a memorable name rather then
    seo purposes.

But what about something like satellite.provider.com? Do
you think google will rank this for the term satellite provider?
Do you think google sees it as a phrase match or just as "satellite" and
    "provider" separately?

your talking about a subdomain, every subdomain is seen on its own merits and would be seen as a brand new site even if you put it on a 10 year old domain, its seperate for sure

The engines are not stupid... no way to fool them with such a simple trick
