Here's my observations:
-Nuke just speeds things up. If you blow things up, it is your problem, so use Nuke slowly, or as suggested, use it a lot, but spread across multiple sites. Actually if you spin articles and then submit to tons of sites in the same niche, that would be marvelous!
-if worried, try to strengthen the incoming links to your sites, eg. Nuke the heck out of the ezine article or squidoo page you submitted, not your money site.
-If you use it a lot it is worth it, if not, not.
-I don't know if redirect of old pr domains works as suggested here, but certainly you can buy cheap aged domains, and start there (assuming you are ok with niche/keywords).
