Okey I got a question about sandbox affecting PR.
Lets say I have a website that is pr3-5 (2-4 years old), and all of a sudden I decide to get a blast with xrumer or anything that has thousands of meaningless links.

I understand that there is a good chance of getting sandboxed, but will my PR go down because of that?

No the two are unrelated. The sandbox is about rankings and PR is ALL about the PR of the pages that link to you. But I wouldn't bother with an xrummer blast to your money site as it won't help.

Well in a sandbox, some sites might even get deindexed, and if that is the case PR will get affected in that process.

OP.. Will not recommend Xrumer blasts alone, as google is pretty smart about that. If you are looking for an instant yet amazing result, there's a crazy service called spam gone wild and it might just work for you, if you are lucky!

why do you care about PR? There's absolutely no reason to care about PR.....

I have no idea what PR my website have actually, all i care it's how high they rank

Just because you care or are curious about PR, doesn't mean that it matters.

Like flx89 said, PR doesn't mean anything, and has nothing to do with how well your site ranks.
That being said, if you get a penalty, your PR will not drop instantly, as PR is not updated but every 3 months or so.

I humbly object the idea that PR means nothing.

I think what you're trying to tell is that PR is NOT EVERYTHING.

Among many ranking signals, PR has a decent value in determination of a site's authority.

Do you actually claim a PR1 and a PR7 site have the same authority?

With the same content quality / optimization , a site with higher PR will surely have higher authority thus higher rankings at a theoretical tie situation

PR is something that is nice to have, but absence does not mean you're done.

    Regards,

yeah thats possible. I respect any approach.

On the other hand, I have solid results that a site can lose many long tail traffic overnight after a major PR decrease.

I had one site that has been a PR 5 for a couple of years and one night most of the long-tail traffic was gone. Checked everything, and the only change was in PR. It had dropped to PR1. Happened in just 2-3 days.

The reason for the drop was, I was stupid enough to sell a link on homepage where there were no other outbound links. Paid the price.

Anyways, I hope I come across a webmaster with a PR7 domain that thinks PR is nothing :) I'll buy him a cup of coffee for a permanent link.

    Best regards,

sorry for discussing irrelevant topics in your thread.

Actually, the answer was already given. If your site gets deindexed then you'll lose the PR too.

I managed to deindex a site with AMR blast and / or uncloaked affiliate links.

So be careful with what you're planning to do.

Edit: and the answer to the actual question :)

you will not lose any PR after a penalty (filter? sandbox?). Your site will still show the same PR even if it doesnt rank.
I've experienced various penalties and PR didnt change during any of them although the rankings dropped from page one to
    700 something.

I answered your question in my response. Not really sure what "getting all donor on you" means.
You keep worrying about your fucking page rank, and I'll keep making money.
