Same IP while using proxy? WTF

I have used so many methods to put my proxy into firefox settings, including manually. I know they all work and that I'm doing it right. But when i go to what is my ip . com it shows up as my same IP. It takes it a long time to load, so I know it is going through the proxy.

Why is this happening?

The proxy may be transparent, or you really just aren't doing it right.. Clear your cache/temp files/history and try again. Sometimes it will load the page the way it was last displayed out of your temp directory to increase loading times.

Looks like the proxy just wasnt online. I tried to ping it, and got no responce. I tried one I could ping, and now it works.

Stupid question, i guess XD Thanks anyway!

im guessing u used a transparent proxy.

try use a anonymous/elite proxy and check the ip address again. im sure i wont show ur real ip then.
