Hi everyone,

I created a website a few months ago with the purpose of promoting some Clickbank products. I found a product that had good conversions, good gravity, and a nice commission. I actually got one sale the other day, which I was pretty excited about, as it was only my 3rd sale in my entire IM career.

But something about the sales page bothers me: there is no "buy now" button, there is just a video presentation that loads. The video consists of a voice-over of some guy telling the viewer about all these problems, and how the product can solve them. The "video" is just scrolling text of exactly what the guy is saying; no pictures or anything. There is no way to fast forward or skip the video, you have to watch the entire thing. I'm guessing that there is a button at the end of the video leading to the order form page, but that video is just too long! At the beginning, the guy even said "in the next 6 minutes, I'm going to show you how to blah blah blah" but the video ran WELL OVER 12 minutes! (that's as far as I sat through it; I didn't have time to watch the whole damn thing!)

I'm concerned that this long and mandatory video is going to make a lot of potential customers get bored and leave the page. I mean, a sloppy Youtube clipshow of random Google image results would at least have SOMETHING to hold their interest... I have a lot of hops, but only one order form impression, and one sale. I think a lot of people are clicking on my affiliate links, and are interested in the product, but they just end up going somewhere else or losing interest because that video is too long and boring. I think that sales was probably just dumb luck.

But what do you guys think? Has anyone had success with websites like these? I know I wouldn't sit through some boring "video" like that; but would it work for the average person? I found another product with a sales page that looks a little sloppy and spammy, but at least the visitors can click "buy now" anytime they want, instead of waiting for some mind-numbing 15 minute video to finish. I'm thinking of switching to that product instead.

Personally I hate them, just let me get to the information I want and decide from their. I haven't created any cause they are so irritating.

I know the type of pages you are talking about and am skeptical about them myself. The long video seems like a turn off to me.

Check and see if they have an affiliates page that will allow you to choose the landing page that you want to promote. I have seen this option with some of the types of pages you have described. If there is no link on the landing page for affiliates you can do a search in google using "site:domain.com" (without quotes) and the affiliate page will most likely show up if they have one.

Otherwise you could make your on landing page and then direct link to the order page. I have never done this and am not sure if all vendors allow this so you will need to do a little research.
