I have recently put together some sales copy for a friend of mine presenting a product to banks. It will be presented mainly as a brochure to potential Clients.

The majority of this was written in a somewhat informal voice. I felt this was the best way to hold the readers attention to the copy.

The problem I have ran into is that every educated person I have shown it to has said to write the copy in a more formal way.

Is this really the best advice? Does it work better to write sales copy in an informal tone, or a formal tone. Yes this is for Banks, but I also want to hold their attention.

    Thanks
