I know most of the Fiverr gigs are spammy and may negate current SEO efforts. But are there any types of SEO/linking gigs that are worthwhile and "safe" to use? I plan to purchase a few to help with my own SEO efforts for clients if it will help.

Also, if working on a new website, should I wait a bit before using the gigs?

I think this kind of question is asked about 5 times a day since a few weeks/months..

For link building, you get what you pay for. If you think your business is only worth investing $15-20 then yeah, go for some fiverr gigs. They will probably be crap but hey, its Fiverr.. If you want quality, you have to pay for it. And most people here will tell you that quality is what its all about now.

and yes, if your website is new, you'd better start off by building links manually and nice and easy..
