Title says it all. If anyone knows of a good safe registrar that doesn't fine you first and then contacts you for dispute, please let me know.

What happens is, I just found this dropped domain that seems to have belonged to a medical research company and has amazing stats: DA 49, 6k links, half of which from edu, wikipedia etc etc.
Would feel very sorry to let this one go for fear of a registrar fine :D Actually I wouldn't, but still would be nice to be know of a safe registrar. Is Namecheap safer than Godaddy in that respect? I got a $50 fine from Godaddy recently just out of the blue, then a few days later I got contacted and explained there was dispute over a domain I had found and registered. Didn't like that a bit.

No registrar is safe. You can still be taken to UDRP court.

Ok, but one that wouldn't charge your card upfront at least?

Namecheap is better than Godaddy. :) A better way to shop online is to use VCC with $1 or $2 more than the product value, and they cannot charge you such huge amounts. ;) I mostly use VCC to do online purchases because of 1and1, had very bad experience with them.
