safe country to host a torrent type site?

hong kong? netherlands? russia?
im using the underhost package off of offshorewebhost.net and right now my site is in netherlands but if there is any problems they will transfer everything to a hong kong server within a few hours.
maybe u should look into something like that.

when I was traveling through slovenia, i met a lot of students and they were very proud of all the torrent sites hosted there.. never used any of them so you'll have to look into it.

The most popular I hear of are Panama, China, Russia, and Egypt. Just do a little research on how the country deals with piracy. Most third world countries would rather take the money and use it for the necessities than waste money on fighting illegitimate income.

Egypt hosts Piratebay servers these days, so I guess its good one.
Its strange, but it looks like netherlands is good too. Few months ago, Myp2p site that links to streams of all major sports events won on Dutch court when they were sued for linking to illegal content

Easy: go with Russia, but any other eastern european country can fit well, like Slovakia or Slovenia, Iran or Hong Kong. Egypt can fit really well, too, but I don't like egypt lol, so it's up to you =P
ah! a little tip: don't try to host piracy sites in South America...here, everyone piss of when they recive any lawsuit...specialy in brazil, argentina and chile...

i have ran a few torrent sites all in The Netherlands you really don't have to worry to much if your running a small torrent site (>3k users) but you MUST HAVE a dedicated server some people try to run them on shared hosting and its just pointless torrent trackers use a massive amount of CPU usage even with a small user base also remember if your using tbdev source code it need to be secured it has alot of holes right out of the box and you will get hacked if you dont fix them if you dont have alot of knowledge of servers and coding or dont have someone to do it for you i suggest not investing in a torrent site you will have nothing but problems
