[SAAS Journey] Automation Sales

Hi everyone,

I posted a thread yesterday asking what project I should work on next, since the rona and the bad weather got me a bit bored I have plenty of time to work on something new. And I also thought why not get involved in this community to maybe learn new tricks, share, get motivated and contribute. There were mainly two answers regarding the topic I could have a look at: Forex or SAAS.

After looking into both, I decided to go with the SAAS route first, so thanks to king0735 and MisterF.
There were two other suggestions: a course or a football betting app. Both are great ideas just I don't want to put myself forward just yet with a course and the football app will be complicated since I have no clue about it.

Without revealing too many details the niche will be a SAAS for Shopify, Wix and Amazon as this seems to be a trend that I noticed lots of people start on these sites and face a recurring pattern of issues... Sell shovels, member?

Steps I have taken so far:
- Checked the competition: 4 medium sized players with meh to okay-ish sites (registered to all of them and tried them, there is space in this market although non negligeable effort is required)
- Sent my notes to someone on Fiverr to structure my pitch to make it "sales-y" and not too technical
- Built a landing "site" with Webflow (4 pages, so far only placeholders for the text above)
- Bought the domain name and got a cheap VPS (2 word .com domain)
- Scheduled a call today with a store owner to weigh the interest or eventually change the pitch

Next steps:
- Go live with the website and do the first requests "manually"
- Develop and automate one of the functionalities for the website
- Figure out if I should do Email, Login or another way for "Dashboarding", this will depend largely on who will use the service
- Come up with a targeting strategy to scale and try ads
- Localisation to 4 languages

Goals:
- 5 Beta testers by end of November 2020
- 1 st paying customer by mid December
- 300€ MRR by end of January 2021 ~ 3/4 customers

Those are my humble goals but since it's not my real first rodeo that should be fine since where I live there are lots of regulations and laws to get in order besides just coding.

sorry for not posting sooner, I was a bit focused on the project and side tracked by others! Thanks for all the kind words.
So what I basically did was a competition tracker for amazon but I didn't manage to get any users/customers so I am leaving the project on the backburner for now. I need to work on my marketing / sales skills because I am a total noob at that. If anyone has any suggestion where I could look at it would be great.
I won't mind sharing more about the code, how it works and everything once I am satisfied with the result.

Sounds promising. Always had a crash on a SaaS service. That is amazing business for a lot of reasons.

Do you have any budget for the project ?

The main budget is my time, I'm 20 hours in developing it. Besides if I have a reliable marketing channel and strategy I could throw 3 to 4k at it. But first it needs to justify it's existence

You are on BHW, you can find someone to create you a landing page for your product. Then someone to do the copywriting for email marketing and the sales page.
Finally, you can see some services who do ads management. You can also have an affiliate program to drive up sales without doing anything basically.
