I recently read an article about a Russian mathematician called "Alex".. The guy runs an organisation for exploiting slot machines in casinos (certain manufacturers, but one of them is major in the industry, so there are plenty of slots everywhere in the world)..

Has anyone heard a bit more bout this organisation?? Tbh, wanted to contact them.. So if anyone has some contact infos, pm me xD

(There's an article in "wired", and there're few more sources, but can't find a way to contact the guy)

They're based in Sankt-Petersburg..

If you have some other related story, post it here.. Gambling industry is huge and there'll always gonna be opportunities for us to take advantage of their mistakes.. Gambling is tax on stupidity..

Rainman on a whole new level. Gotta admire them for their ingenuity, had a buddy who had a little success counting cards. Most casinos can tell when you are counting, or will kick you out when you are beating the house too much.

I'm actually from Saint Petersburg. This is sort of an old story, but it's really an exciting one, it had great coverage in local newspapers. From what I remember, most of the gang are in prisons across the world now.

Here's the full story (2017) in Russian. Run it through Google Translate: https://meduza.io/feature/2017/08/08/chelovek-kotoryy-nauchilsya-obmanyvat-kazino

EDIT
Found it on Wired, too: https://www.wired.com/2017/02/russi...-machine-cheat-casinos-no-fix/?mbid=social_fb

The problem is using electronic devices in casino.. And ofc, the "$250.000 per week" is one of the reasons many got jailed.. I know a guy who cracked a lock on parking meter ('90s coin machines).. Well, let's say that he and his friends made a big european capital to change all of parking meters.. Haha, when they become to greedy, city noticed 50% drop in revenue and had to make changes.. Before that, they were making like 1000(deutsche mark) per day, easily.. On 1.000.000 parking spaces, it's nothing.. But 100k per day was noticable..

If you find it, post it here.. But tbh, I wouldn't put money on roulette strategies xD

I live in Las Vegas and have for years. I basically live in the casinos and make a pretty good living doing so. My #1 rule, is to stay away from the machines. They are all designed with a negative expectation built into them. Basically, you win some and you loose some, but over time the machines win. Live Poker, Sports, And Blackjack are the only games that are beatable to my knowledge and experience. Blackjack is even questionable, considering that if you are counting cards, (Which is the only way to turn it into a positive expectation game) there is a problem that Edward Thorpe, The guy that invented card counting, didn't take into consideration. The dealer counts as a player also. If the count is high, the dealer has just a good of a chance of getting a good hand as you do. So I just stick with live Poker and Sports. If anyone comes up with something to beat the machines, I will gladly take a look at it and try it if it seems mathematically sound. To this date though, I have not seen a system that works. The randomizers in the machine are in no way random. As most people on this forum should know, a computer is not capable of being random. It can have so many variances that it can give the illusion of being random, but a computer is binary. It does what it is told to do. Just my opinion and experience.

Card counting with bet spread with <2%ror means that you need a $50k bank to earn $100/h and you risk being backed off if they catch you while you have loosing streak (I don't do it, but based on other peoples experience, this is how I understood it)..
There are guys making money doing it, but I don't think I could get unnoticed in my environment ($50k is a lot here, so everyone looks at you while you're playin)..

My uncle is poker player, but not really a pro (and not really winning much xD)..
Read the article from wired (grammakov posted the link).. It's basically figuring out the prng used in slot machine and finding when will it payout

The government-approved software that powers such machines gives the house a fixed mathematical edge, so that casinos can be certain of how much they’ll earn over the long haul—say, 7.129 cents for every dollar played.

For everyone thinking they can win by playing normal slots or casino games.

At the same time, most casinos can’t afford to invest in the newest slot machines, whose PRNGs use encryption to protect mathematical secrets; as long as older, compromised machines are still popular with customers, the smart financial move for casinos is to keep using them and accept the occasional loss to scammers.

The fact that they wont replace the machines and just deal with the loss is amazing. I hope that that St.P Crew will clean all the casinos..

Exactly it's very obvious, in order to come out with a good ROI you would have to play small bets when the count is off and high bets when the count is in your favor, its a clear pattern.

This is a nice story. The thing people dream about.
But as @digitalpro pointed out above, the only beatable games are live poker and sports.
It's impossible to beat the machines. Mathematically it might be possible, but
the fact is, casinos aren't honest businesses.
The owners are crooks that will gladly seperate you from your money.
The tricks they use, you have no idea. It's hallucinating.

Anyway, they will avoid paying taxes too, so I wouldn't be surprised if this whole story
was set up so they could fill insurance claims for theft and deduct the money.
Just like they sometimes put a robbery in scene.

All this might sound strange, but anybody with experience in this business will know
what I'm talking about.

In the past you could come out ahead by playing video poker, even if you lost money directly. Certain video poker machines had a really cheap path to making the top tiers of the reward programs. Nowdays, they don't give out as much benefits as a few years ago.

How about online poker?
It's more player vs player or that's rigged as well?
I remember there were poker bots which the players and house dislike too.

I play hours of Live Poker Everyday and I never see the cards come out like they do in online Poker. Too many 4 to the flush and 4 card straight draws on the board. I have quit playing online Poker altogether. My "Theory" is that they want everyone to win some hands so that they can continue to collect their rake of the pot. I also know of several players that set at the same table while they are on the phone talking with each other and fold to each other when they are losing. Information is 90% of Poker, it's just what you have the ability to do with that information in live Poker.

So it's rigged by the house and players :D

I wonder does the house have algorithm to detect and ban those players that share information.
I feel like the players are going to need lots of proxy, identity or credit cards.
They could even use bots to scale.
