I'm wondering if it's cool to just run xrumer on your desktop, I understand one downfall is you can't run the program day and night like this, I'm wondering though what other downfalls are in terms of speed, memory usage, or memory leakage. (IE how much ram/memory does it take up, and does it increase as time goes on) I'm sure the speed of the program is compromised, and I'm running on a cable modem, would this also slow down my internet connection?

Yes, I believe it will fiend off your Internet connection to slow down. To use Xrumer in a timely manner worthy using, it would take many threads at once. Some serious Xrumer users who have proper hosting go to over 200 threads, it is insane. You can of course use Xrumer on your desktop, but it will be a lot slower, not to say more dangerous because you may be exposing your IP.

oh yes using dedicated servers is the best idea, we have a lot of clients using our servers for xrumer.

I use my xrumer day an night 24 hours/day on my home PC athlon 1.5GHZ 512MB RAM. I can do ~300K successful posts/24H using zlinks DB it is about 400-700links/min depending if I'm doing forums or blogs and guestbooks.
With fresh linkslist ~80-300links/min also depends on DB type. At this moment my fuck... firefox consumes more memory as Xrumer xrumer takes up 108MB RAM at this moment.... I'm runing xrumer with 70 threads i haven't noticed speed increase if i run with much more threads like 200 or only 40 only if you run with 300+ threads then xrumer consumes much more RAM ~200MB and CPU usage goes to 100%. My internet connection is 20mbit/s Before I bought xrumer i thought that it would be impossible to Run xrumer and in same time use firefox and other software i was wrong there is no problem when xrumer running in background you can do all other work without problem. So yes it is possible to run Xrumer 24H day with home computer. But of course you need fast connection and ISP who don't care about bandwith usage and spam

I wonder how comcast feels about spam, it's so comcastic

I would think your isp would have something to say about the bandwidth usage imo.

Godmonkee

+1 Insided, unlimitted BW in french,

for example I live in Belgium - and here its the sh*t I have 25GB Quota BW/month

but I have found a tips to go overhead :p

Hi, I have run Xrumer from a desktop before and the biggest killer was the bandwidth that it used. I had it running at 150 threads and it wasn't to too bad at all re memory leaks etc (I was pleasantly suprised). It's easy to rip through the bandwidh though so if you are capped I would look at some other way
Regards
Mark

If you want to do it properly, just get a dedi. Sooner or later someone's gonna complain, VPS is known to steal your xRumer pass/details. You will have way more potential running it on a server with unmetered bandwith and 100mBps.. you mustn't go cheap on xRumer. If you can't pay for a dedi monthly, it's not a good idea to buy this masterpiece software in the first place. Just my 02 cents.

Agree.

You need a dedicated server with lots of memory and bandwidth.

Or else your money spent will not be well worth.
