Is it perfectly ok to make a vague TOS when you run sites likes Paypal adsense, max bounty etc? So that you can either ban and deny payments or put a hold on money. When I read what steve from MB said about their TOS, I noticed how vague it was and it seemed designed to ban anyone so that they can maximize profits.

I nearly got banned from a ppv image host a few months ago for "spamming" chat rooms. Yet I was doing exactly the same thing everyone else did and what the room was set up for,as well as never received any complaints from the people running the room. So in reality it was not actually spamming, but they considered it to try to keep my earnings.

Yeah, tese TOS are made to steal affiliate money.

Publishers can make awesome cash, and advertisers are happy with that but then boom, they ban you and take your money even they converted really great.

its another story about maxbounty, they shave and they ban people just to steal their money. Wait for new updated mazbounty shitlist thread with actual details and pics :)

As I understand it you may write anything in your TOS, it is just that when it conflicts with The Law you lose.

It helps in letting people be aware of your rules to use the service, but just like companies putting some conditions in their guarantee license that are not backed by The Law it doesn't stop people from suing you to comply to The Law.

    Just my 2 cents.

Also: People shouldn't scam... There is not enough profit in it compared to other avenues. :p

Im not intending to scam anyone, lol. I just couldn't think of what to call having a vague TOS to shave earnings and ban/hold accounts. But with some of the sites, they can claim you violated their TOS for spamming even if you dont spam.

I didn't mean to say that you were. Rereading it I can understand how it can be read though. My bad.

If I was to write a TOS that states you may not post on Youtube, I may ban you for doing so. All money earned from such posts is mine at that point. BUT money earned from other places, not covered in the TOS, is yours.
It is easy to write you an email that says you are fudged for spamming, it is not so easy to stop you from suing me to get what is yours.

I could be wrong here, but that is how I understand The Law to operate. In the Netherlands anyways.

And again: Sorry for my former reply, did not mean to imply that you are a scammer. It would surprise me if you were. :)

EDIT: I edited my first post to prevent any confusion
