Hello! I had a previous journey thread a little while back, but I abandoned it to deal with personal issues and other ventures. Well, I am back, but with more experience (albeit, not much, honestly), more resources, and more determination. That and my goal is different, so I started a new, exciting thread!

The goal is to accomplish the following in 3 months: create 3 authority sites that contain 300 articles each, between 500-1000 words per article. I don't have a monetary goal yet because it would be relatively arbitrary. I would like to generate enough income to move out and invest some in other ventures.

    - GSA SER
    - GSA Captcha Breaker
    - 19 Domains
    - Programming experience
    - Various articles
    - Linux hosting
    - Various paid themes
    - Pandabot
    - TrafficTwister
    - LongTailPro
    - HMail email creator
    - Copyscape

Most of my money is tied up in other things, but I have some here and there to use.

Most of my 19 domains have websites with various degrees of backlinks and different themes and articles and popularity. None of them though are authority sites. Mostly micro niche type.

I plan on working around 12 hours per day. I don't have a lot of responsibilities, so I have quite a bit of time to spend with this journey. One important thing to know about me is that I am all or nothing. Either I spend every waking moment on my current topic or idea, or I absolutely abandon it. I am just starting back into the SEO game from a break, so I expect to be involved for a comfortable enough period to start a journey thread, but I cannot promise anything.

I am starting with my most developed website. It contains about 55 articles of mostly moderate (not authority) quality. I have spent about 6 hours on it today. Mostly removing over-optimization settings; I am also adding images, videos, and more text to articles.

It will most likely be a mix of manual and outsourcing depending on the flow of money.

I have a lot of experience in the first website niche, so I have no trouble writing a good amount of articles on it. I wrote probably 40 of the 55 current articles; the goal when I wrote them was to churn them out, so they aren't top quality, but I will adjust them accordingly.

The plan of attack is to optimize the first website and fill it with articles, 150-200 articles. Move on to the second and third website with a similar tactic. Then go back and assess the ranking situation. Build backlinks, while drip feeding the rest of the articles to each site.

The first site name is Miracle. It's my baby. My first site ever made. This is the first site I will be developing, and the current most developed site.

    The homepage stats:

    The second site is Absolute.

I haven't decided which site this will be, so no stats.

    The third site is Perfect.

I haven't decided which site this will be, so no stats.

How much time did I spend on those stupid custom titles? Too much time. Thanks for following!

Assuming a minimum of 500 words an article that's over 150,000 words in 3 months. I wish you the best, but I personally feel that goal is a little overly ambitious.

Erm, how are you gonna get the content/articles? You can't possibly be writing each right?

Thank you so much for liking the main post guys. I hope I don't disappoint you!

So for now I will not keep track of rankings or the like, because it is not really relevant, considering I am completely changing the sites. Recording an arbitrary starting point doesn't make sense to me. The rankings and such are not that significant anyway. I mean I am ranked on the first page with Miracle for a few less significant keywords, but nothing crazy.

Anyway, I will mostly describe what I did during the day and plans for the next day until I reach around 50-100 well done articles, then I will reconsider recording the rankings.

    So here is today:

I created facebook, twitter, and google+ accounts for Miracle.

I also stripped Miracle of all the plugins and themes, and downloaded these:

    • [*=center]All in One SEO Pack
      [*=center]Broken Link Checker
      [*=center]Contact Form 7
      [*=center]Contextual Related Posts
      [*=center]Eazy CF Captcha
      [*=center]Google XML Sitemaps
      [*=center]Limit Login Attempts
      [*=center]SEO Auto Links
      [*=center]Simple Link Cloaker
      [*=center]Simple Share Buttons Adder
      [*=center]W3 Total Cache
      [*=center]WP Sitemap Page

And the theme is HeatMap AdAptive.

I adjusted a few plugin settings. I can specifically state what the settings are, but I won't bother unless someone asks. The page is basically set up with left side column of search, share buttons, archives, and meta. The top is the pages (about, contact, privacy policy, and terms and conditions), then the custom site logo I made with share buttons pulled to the right, then the menu of categories. Three most recent posts are displayed on the home page with the title, then date posted, then a custom image for the article, then an excerpt, then an adsense banner ad. The footer contains the pages with an additional sitemap link and a square adsense ad.

I added additional categories. I currently have 6, but I will most likely go up to around 12.

I added about 1,000 words to the about page. It basically describes the site with a small FAQ and about the author section with a picture.

Then I edited 20 articles out of the 55. I doubled the word count to make them around 500-600 words each, and I made minor improvements to the old content. I also added around 2 links to related posts within the article and 1-2 links to well known sites. In addition, I added at least one picture to each article, but a lot of them also included a relevant youtube video too.

I also completely edited the meta tags and all in one seo settings for each article too, in order to prevent excessive keywords and have more descriptive summaries and titles.

I checked each article on copyscape and a keyword density analyzer. All the articles passed both tests.

I worked about 12-14 hours today on this site. I think I accomplished a lot, so I am happy with the day.

Tomorrow (technically today, considering it is 2 am), I will attempt to adjust the remaining 35 articles like the ones I did today. Unfortunately, that will probably fill up the days time, considering I have to basically write/rewrite 19k words. But considering I probably won't sit down and type out 19k words in one sitting, I will think further about which two other sites I want to convert to authority sites and what topics I will cover in the remaining 245 articles I have left for this site :D

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy and follow along!

If all I do for the day (IM related that is) is write, I can pump out 15-20 articles, 500-1000 words, assuming I have a general keyword/idea planned that I want to write about.

However, that is unreasonable, so once I get it going with the 150-200 articles. I will likely hire a writer from this forum to finish some, if not all, of the articles I plan to drip feed to each authority site.

Thanks for the questions and thoughts!

Not impossible at all! Stick you yoour clear plan and you will have the websites running in the timescale you say. I did this, but more on a micro niche side of things with 20 websites. I had 12 articles on each website, and the logistics were a nightmare!! But very profitable.

Thanks a lot! I hope you stick around.

Anyway, it's 3:30 am and I am falling asleep at the computer. I have 3 articles left to correct.

Yes, that means I corrected 32 articles in one day. Not bad. It took about 11-12 hours worth of work because I woke up late.

I basically did the exact same thing as the articles from the day before. I doubled the word count, rewrote the meta tags, retitled, made a custom logo for each article, and added a few internal and external links. I also made sure I checked each article with copy scape, and I'm glad I did because a couple of them had a match or two. I guess I got lazy when I wrote the original articles. Tsk Tsk.

Sorry for the lame summary. It will be better tomorrow when I don't have an impossible goal.

Speaking of tomorrow, the plan is to finish the last few articles, plan out the remaining 100 or so articles, and write as many as I can.

Edit: by remaining 100, I mean to reach about halfway to get to a point where I will drip feed the articles and move on the other authority sites.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you follow along!

So I didn't get any sleep last night. I started the day at 6:30 am when I went to bed at 4 am. Not a good combination.

Anyway, I finished rewriting the last two articles and I did some keyword research. I don't really spend tons of time on keyword research. I mostly try to find a decent starting keyword that has a few thousand monthly searches, and the front page sites are like PR 3 or less, only a couple backlinks, and like 40ish PA.

I found maybe 50 good keywords, and then I started writing. I knocked out 9 articles. Then I'm not sure what happened because it's 3 am and I just woke up in my bed. I don't remember going to bed or anything like that.

Anyway, it was definitely 12+ hours worth of work that I accomplished before passing out.

Oh also I looked up a couple content writing services, but I was pretty disappointed because my articles are a quality between the SEO and Authority articles by Natasha Nixon, and it costs so much if I wore to buy that quality or better. I may just end up writing every article.

Looking forward to your journey! I am also building my authority niche, currently 1 at the moment since I have other projects to do. Hope to reach it :) Btw, care to share your SEO and social media plan?

Are you outsource a content write to write the articles?

Well, this particular site already has some backlinks pointing to it, which is why I'm ranked top 10 for a couple keywords, but they aren't quality, so I will probably:

    1. buy manual .edu and .gov backlinks; mostly because they are highly relevant to my niche.

    2. a few high PR blog references.

    3. social signals, specifically facebook, twitter, and definitely google+.

This is after I set up a few more articles and see where I am ranking wise to evaluate exactly how much I need. But stick around, I will definitely detail everything I do.

Yea, it is really slow. I don't plan on using it for traffic anyway.

Omg KHer0!!! I loved your authority site thread!!

I haven't outsourced any work so far. And like I said above, I can write just as quality content for free and faster, so I doubt I will outsource, but it's a possibility.

I had to pick up my mother a few hours from where I'm living so I haven't done any work today and its 4:30 pm. I will hopefully be able to hammer out a few articles and what not.
