Some of you may already know but the probe named "Rosetta" will be landing in an hour or so. Has been travelling in space for 10 years and today is the day it lands on the comet.
This sort of stuff peaks my interest. I love anything to do with space. I must admit I'm hoping there will be some aliens :D

Touch down expected 16:02 GMT / 17:02 CET.

First image taken with the probe today just after detaching from the orbiting gear.

    haha the good ol'Clangers.

They reckon there are more planets, stars etc.. than there is grains of sand on Earth. I just can't see us being the only lifeforms.

Won't it take a long time until the images it takes actually reach Earth?

Should be cool, thanks for the link to the live stream. The images take under an hour to be received, so a bit of a delay but not bad for something millions of miles away.

space shuttle apparently travels at around 28,000km/hour, so in 10 years it could travel this many kilometers:
    2,452,800,000

Light travels 299,000km/second, so would take about 2.27 hours to travel that distance. So do they send teh images by lightwaves somehow??
