Hey!

My name is Karupoiss and this is my 4th or 5th or something journey thread. Why 4th or 5th? Because lack of consistency has been the biggest reason why I have failed to earn a full time living via IM. I have abandoned the last threads because I gave up on the methods or I kept earning and was too lazy to scale up until the method stopped working and I was back at square one.

Why $34/day? Because that is the average wage in my country that people earn in a month after paying taxes. I know I can earn much more in IM but this would be my first goal - if I would make that then I could live pretty comfortably on my own (instead of my mom basement). Naah.. just kidding, I don't live in a basement - we keep the kids from Halloween there :)

I have been the slave of my own laziness and lack of self belief for too long, I have wasted years because of that and I can't live like this any more. If I don't change my ways of life then I will be fucked forever, none of my dreams will come true and I will just degrade into a pathetic old man full of regrets and "what ifs".

I have been reading and testing different things in IM for over 4 years and I have had some successes but my lack of work discipline and the ever changing nature of IM has brought me back to having no mentionable income. What is good about this period though is that I have learned a lot about different things and I have an understanding of what to do (in theory).

Anyways, I really want to succeed this time and really turn a new page in my life!

GAMEPLAN

I have read a lot of threads about SEO and Amazon affiliate sites, some threads I have read 5+ times to obtain every single bit of information they hide within. I must mention @meathead1234 thread here http://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/me...on-newbie-friendly-phase-5a-published.832879/ and @splishsplash guides about competition evaluation and silo site structure here http://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/su...ilding-step-by-step-blueprint-9-parts.825593/

Theses two threads have given me belief that even I, who has failed so many times with SEO, could finally build a site that brings in money long term.

I will build an Amazon affiliate niche site. I have already found a niche and gathered all the keywords. I think the competition is around 4-5/10. This was the easiest I could find after a week of search (it's difficult to know which sites are using hidden PBNs and which are ranking from the random forum posts they have built to the site).

I have already bought a domain and hosting + I have chosen a theme and set up couple of plug ins.

Now I just need to dive into the niche and start writing articles. I will be writing all the articles myself because I am poor :D I am afraid of doing it because I am not that confident in my English skills but I hope they are not the worst and visitors would forgive a mistake or two here and there.

My second goal, as kind of a backup plan or alternate income source, is to build a list in another niche and promote Clickbank product. The niche is something I can talk about hours and give very good advice in but it is also super saturated with other marketers. I have tried to build the list in this niche several times before and I have always set up the sales funnel only to abandon it all because I failed to get traffic. I have already a free ebook that is pretty solid that I will give away for free for the email. I also have written the first couple of emails where I offer free value. I have not written any promotional emails yet because I don't know how to go about it. My way of getting traffic would be Instagram and if that doesn't work out then promoting in forums in my signature. I would be using single opt in because the last time I used double opt in I got like 16% of sign up rate which is pretty bad.

I know that people sell to the same people several times but it's a bit hard for me to grasp how to sell multiple stuff to the same people or send them the same offer several times before they just buy it or unsubscribe. I hope it's just a limiting belief of mine that it can't be done because people are obviously doing it so there is no reason why I can't do it.

Things don't need to be perfect - just get something out there and then try to improve.

This journey sounds awesome OP! Love how open you are with your past shortcomings, I have been inconsistent too but am looking at making an amazon affiliate niche site as well, hopefully I can learn a lot from you. Will be following this journey all the way! GOODLUCK Karupoiss

Thanks JordenEitr

UPDATE

I have been reading about the products in my niche a lot in the past days because I don't know much about the market. Read all the reviews on Amazon to get a picture what product to suggest. I have been writing my homepage post the past 2 days, a lot of rewriting and messing around with css etc.

If I work a whole day tomorrow then I am sure I can finish the homepage.

I haven't done anything with list building yet.

Sounds Good mate sure you can earn good money from affiliate sites.
Give your best to make a site more attractive.
Good luck on your journey.

UPDATE

My laziness is once again gotten the best of me.

I have now finished the first page of my Amazon site and it ranked for 2 main kw-s in #60 and #50 but after writing more content the first kw has dropped to #97 and other is gone from first 300 results. It might have been because that I use the 2 worded combo that is within almost all my long tails too many times, it might also be because of the "table of contents" links.. though I see everybody using those.. could be just a random dance.

As for the the email list, I have set up the auto responder and landing page, set up 2 IG accs to promote my free ebook. Thus far I have gotten 2 subs and then 0 visitors the next day and today.. witch is demoralizing. Also, the two subs haven't opened my free ebook email nor the second, introduction email. I tested the main 3 email providers and I finally (after a lot of swearing) got the emails to inbox.. might have to retest that.

I don't know what's up with me, I just don't want to bother doing any work. It just feels so fcking boring writing articles. It wouldn't be that bad but the optimization part is what ruins it. I have to add certain long tails, I need to check that this phrase is not used too much, how do I fit this phrase in this title, do I have enough words, is this offering enough value etc. It's like using your creative half of the brain and then every second you break up your creativity to fuck it up with logic. Think of it like a car who wants to accelerate only to hit breaks after 2 seconds - it's frustrating. I don't have money to outsource the content also.. well.. I have a bit of money but for that I would only get garbage that is useless.

I have even thought about going full in with just the email list building. I used to comment in related forums with my signature having the link to opt in page. I got like 10 visitors for 4 hours of posting quality responses on forums.. and 2 subs from that.

I could widen the selection of forums though.. my niche is something that men like so I could try forums where men hang out like football forums or stuff like that - places with a lot of traffic. Not that laser focused but could be potential there.

I just.. get overwhelmed again.

UPDATE

Thus far I have created total of 9 posts to my site, 1 main page post/buying guide/best keyword. Then 7 brand pages that have total of 21 products to promote - I need to create 21 product reviews and I also created my first product review. It was around 600 words.

It will be hard to create those 20 product reviews as many don't have any reviews/info about them online and I need to be really creative - think shit up. I can expand the site to around 100 products but like I said, a lot of them have no reviews online so it will be difficult. I just wanted to first create the 21 reviews and apply for Amazon.

At this moment, my main 2 kw-s are ranking around #100 in G which is a bit shit cause I was hoping the keyword is easier.. it might be over optimization also.. I need to take a look at the percentages and then see what is up.

My list is now 20 people big.. I am following with 2 IG accounts and I get around 2 subs/day with 37% opt in rate. I need to decide if I will go on with the IG route or not because 2 subs/day is nice and passive - I don't need to do anything but if I want to scale then the vps+ proxies + accs will cost a lot ($35/month for VPS + proxies) and accs I have no idea because I can get them like $2/account but if the proxy is bad they will be banned and I can burn through a lot of accs because of bad proxies (I tried IG before this project for like a month).

UPDATE

The Amazon site has still 9 posts as I have not added content to it. The main kw-s are around #100 in G for some reason.

I have played around with email list building more lately. I am trying LeadServeAds for buying cheap leads and following them up with auto-responder. Thus far the open rate has been horrific but I changed all the titles today and also created a separate list for my IG collected emails so I can see the difference in open rates etc.

Tomorrow I will write more emails and finally write a mail that actually promotes some offer. My list is around 150 people atm but as I have only few emails pre-written a lot of the people in my list have already passed a lot of days in the auto-responder sequence.

The main kw-s are around #100 in G for some reason.
You have a 2 month old website with no noteworthy backlinks (from what I see) and only 9 posts. Once you get to half a year mark with around 20-30 2000 word+ high quality value giving pages and consistent posting along with some decent backlinks, then you will see your results. There are thousands that made it as far as you did. But only a few moved on and created solid websites.

Also use grammarly if you're not sure about your writing quality, as many people will immediately question a page that's supposed to tell them authoritatively what is the best product, but has grammatical errors.

UPDATE

So what I have been up to meanwhile? The Amazon site is completely on hold atm, I will not abandon it but it's on hold atm.

With email list I have tried a lot of stuff. IG banned all my accounts for getting followers and I am just too short on money to buy new accs that can be banned at every second. I have a total of almost 400 subs in my list but the open rate is tears worthy 7% on average (70% of the emails are from LeadServerAds). I have tested many times if my emails go to spam box but they seem not to (on gmail at least which is the biggest email address provider in my list).

I guess email marketing is a lot harder than people make it out to be. I have not sold anything yet and I am not sure how to continue with this project.

Atm I am trying to spam different platforms to see if I can make some money via that and if/when (hopefully) I am successful in that I can buy solo ads to get subs in my list. The thing with solo ads leads is that they are people who open mails and click on the links in them - so the open rate of those leads should, in theory, be higher.

Will see!

Hey my friend,

Please don't give up, it is just only the first steps are so hard you need at least 6 - 9 months for Amazon. I know it from my friend, writing is a bad thing, takes so much time.
Focus on only one thing first when you get an success on it go for the other one !

You are not different from my old attitude, I give up my all bad behaviors. Today I am in a different type of IM but I am having a decent income!
Please don't give up!

Hoian pöialt, et võtad selle retke siiski ette. Azon on praegu kuum teema.

English: All the usual, best of luck etc.

UPDATE

Ok, as usual, I had forgotten this thread up until Walt here posted in my sweet mother language :D

Anyways, both journeys are put on hold - again. The list building is an absolute certainty in the future - it IS my end goal of a stable legit income. Amazon.. not so sure, SEO has always been something hard for me to crack and the possibility of getting banned would render ALL my effort to zero.

On the bright side, I have been making decent money in the past month with YT commenting. It's a bitch because of bans and stuff, lots of manual work but when I will find a way to keep my accounts alive it will just be a question of scaling.

I am not sure if I will post here more because as past has shown me - I am really shit at keeping a journal.
