Hi BHW, just wondering will there be any risk to ranking 2 of my own sites for the same keyword?

Websites are on the same IP. Both sites monetize through adsense.

Will there be any risk of deindexing or adsense ban?

I think it may benefit to have them on seperate hosts.

If you're using the same Adsense account for both then I don't see why using a different host will make a difference. It will still be clear that both sites are owned by the same person since they both have the same Adsense ID.

You're not breaking Adsense TOS or even Google Webmaster Guidelines by having two sites on the same topic so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Different c-class or host is NOT going to help you, and will leave at great risk to being deindexed and/or kicked from adsense.

Google is not stupid, and knows your adsense account numbers and which sites have them.

The only way you are going to get away with it, is if, you do host it on a different c-class, you dump the adsense on one of them, and get rid of any other identifying factors, like analytics, affiliate ids, tracking urls, etc. Make sure the whois is different or private.

Doing this will eliminate the risk factors.

I think I will just skip ranking 2 sites for the same keyword. Its just not worth the risk from the replies I'm getting.
You never know what Google will do to the sites and your adsense account.

Thanks for the replies! I think I will skip the project of ranking 2 sites for the same keyword.

You should be use different ips for both are that is good, if it's not possible change hosting otherwise google firstly deindexing your site and without time period banned adsense.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand what the problem is. Can't someone have one site about cancer treatment, and another about cancer symptoms and then rank both of them for cancer? I mean, as long as it's not duplicate content, why would Google even care? Why would you even want to hide anything?

Have to agree. Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.

Funny to listen at all the stupid comments from people who have no experience with it.

Too many people on this site try to act as though they're some SEO guru when really they're just beginners.. wouldn't listen to 3/4 of the comments here and even I'm a beginner!

I do not think, it will be a problem at all. Make sure that you follow all the guideline and do not do stupid things like providing links from first one to second one.
