One of the hardest hitters in the NFL
Just heard on KNBR...I used to watch the Chargers just to see Seau. Truly was an all star on the field.
I loved watching this guy play. All he did was bring it every play. he will be missed.
Wow! Can't believe that. Great player. Loved him.
But he had three kids. Sorry man but you gotta get help when you're that depressed. His kids will be messed up for life because of that. It's selfish to say the least. It's not like he was older and couldn't walk or was obviously jacked up with brian damage.
Sad story....pisses me off too when people are so selfish like that. Sad sad sad...
Patriots fan living in San Diego. Sad day all around. RIP.
He actually probably was suffering neurodegenerative disease from so many concussions. Causes massive mood swings and confusion and pain at random times. It's the same thing that Bear player Dave Duerson had last year when he committed suicide. Duerson actually texted his family to have his brain researched after he kills himself and then he shot himself in the chest.
Seau also shot himself in the chest from what I am hearing. He also drove his truck off a cliff in attempted suicide in 2010 after being arrested for domestic violence.
Great player, sad ending. RIP.
The problem with depression or neurodegenerative disease is that they mess with your brain chemistry so that seemingly obvious things like getting help may not appear to be a good option. When you are on the outside looking in, it's easy to see possible solutions, but when your brain is not functioning normally all bets are off.
This really fucked up my day. I have been a fan of Junior's since he was first drafted by the Chargers. He was the heart of the team for many years and an asset to the community. I feel really bad for his family, they were inconsolable when I saw them on the news.
RIP Seau, its incredible that he was able to play for 20 YEARS
