I don't think it'll cause any issues. I've registered with fake info for domains and have never ran into any issues.

You could just use the domains by proxy privacy service.

You could also change your information on the domain after registering, but Godaddy doesn't care about the domain information. I have lots of domains with different information that what is with my credit card or even my paypal account.

i believe if you get reported all that they will do is ask you to "update your info"

but would strongly advise you to use private reg and keep real info there if you want to "keep your domain" as in theory it could be lost by being shady as such.

At the moment they are offering free private registration which is definitely a better option. When i first signed up i did use shady information and did not have any problems at all. I am not doing anything that dodgy so it does not matter for me, I just did not want my infomation all over the web so private is good for me!

I use privacy services on my domains, but use fake reg info when I'm going to flip them.. not that I especially like lying to godaddy, I just don't want to give all my contact info to some guy on ebay that just bought one of my domains.

For the fake ones, I use obviously fake stuff like 123 Fake St, 111 DomainFlip Ave, etc..

Just use "domains by proxy" as mentioned above. I've never had any problems with that.

yeah just use fake info and if it becomes valuable and you don't want to lose it, you can transfer it to yourself at that point.

in the beginning, it's better to minimize your cost, since you don't know whether you will even get any value out of the domain you register. and privacy option is a large cost if you are dealing with a lot of domains.

I always wondered about this one. I use fake info. Too cheap to proxy.

I know if you use godaddy's bulkdomain option to buy 10 or more domains, the private whois is free.

I use fake whois on some of my godaddy domains. I received a warning from them about 4 months ago and did not change it and its still up. Not sure how they check, maybe if its different contact info for the majority of your other domains.
