Rich content rankings uptick

    I've seen a few bhw posts about this recently, but in looking at rankings even from the past few days I have seen continued rankings uptick for pages that are high level content - not necessarily pages with thousands of words but rather interesting, useful, and LSI infused.

    Two things to note:

    • This actually includes pages with a fair amount of low quality outbound links - (I'm linking to external helpful/interesting resources, even though the strength of these outbound links is weak).
    • Additionally, none of these high ranking pages have any links pointing to them.

    Curious if others have seen any similar recent upticks.

    note: these are purely informational pages, with no keywords even remotely close to buyer-intent.

    Now a days most of the people block crawlers on their sites, which makes it look like they have 0 links.
    Trust me no matter how good your content is you will still need links to rank.

    so youre saying that people are linking to these pages but i just dont know it?
    i disagree
    i think the idea of blocking a crawler just doesnt come up with many webmasters, esp the types of mom and pop blogs that would naturally link out
