I bought 5 domains from a seller here, all about da 10 tf 9 or so, to use for pbn sites. I checked them on archive.org and two of them are old forums, and the other sites arent spammy, but look pretty cheesy... should i just restore it all or start new and buy cheap articles?

I can't give you an answer what will be better but I did it once, When I did it I was looking for a tool to export a site from archive.org and finally found one (Was hard to find), This is a link for the tool - domains.pbnhq.com/tools/wayback .
(I'm not affiliate/owner of this site, It was really hard to find this tool and took me few hours.)
    Good luck.

Do both. First restore some of the old content ... then see how it ranks. Later: add new content. This way it looks like a natural continuation as long as the topics correspond.

I agree with restoring old content, and building upon that website. That way, you're most likely to maintain your high ranking.

Use the forums, potential for some continual link building there.

Personally, i would just start them anew. WHY waste my time if i don't believe the domains have the power to rank higher and better, when pushed with the right links?

My advice? Start a new and fresh blog.

You can do both but if you want to restore the old content make sure to check it in plagiarism checker before you copy it because someone might already copied that article.

I have the same question as the OP, say my money site is about "dog training" and I get a good expired domain for my PBN about forex, should I just start a fresh with articles about dogs or add forex articles and dog related articles to the site?
