Just bored and having a few beers and wondering who else here is the wrong side of 40. I'm after guys who remember life before google and how easy it was to rank with just background coloured text.

I remember! But age is not relevant, however experience is invaluable...

Experience just makes it so much easier to deal with new issues and developments...

The way these days folks hype a whole host of issues out of proportion clouds the reality...

Cannot beat having a timeout with a few beers to let the all the BS pass by...

    Thanks for the post OP...

    Still Looking!
Yes. I am the wrong side of 40.....and started IM late in life! But gotta say I like the challenge and all the stuff I have to learn ( and still learning!) Also all the stuff I am failing at now, will be valuable to pass on to my children.
My hat goes off to the younger guys who certainly know their stuff and have passed on some great ideas and knowledge to me also!
Working hard and still having fun!

Hell! . . . I was on the internet before the lightbulb was invented.
Back in those days, we had to view our monitors by candlelight! :D

I am another one on the wrong side of 40, or the right side - depends how you look on life really :D
I started on the internet with AOL and Compuserve......forgot to hang up the phone one day and ended up paying $110 phone bill, which in real money was 75 quid......doesn't sound a lot but at the time I was only on 1.07 an hour at work!!!

    Ah, the good old days........

    :D

Be nice mate. They may be old but they have something which is gold, something which you'll never get until you reach their age...EXPERIENCE!!!
@OP, steelballs and everyone old, you guys totally rock and I wish I had at least 5% of your experience.

    Of course I respect them...

...I plan on using their remains as fuel for my Justin Bieber brand hover car.

    lolol

In my part of the world, the internet and light-bulb are already invented, but the electricity is produced when some politician forcefully passes wind, or is made to pass his wind. :) In short, the electricity comes and goes (mostly goes and stays "gone") at the wish of the masters of those winds!

And so, during many of those timeless times, we still look at the monitor by candlelight! :(

I remember the days when one top man, who led his next generation of followers to make us suffer these atrocities, dreamed that every village will have a computer in every house, even if there was no food or electricity inside there, or there wasn't even 1 doctor for most of those villages.

Many decades later, all the villages now almost has a computer and a mobile in every house (only as per his party), but the required electric-lines and the power that passes through them to make these wonderful gadgets work have still not seen the light of the day!

Based on this unsolved riddle, I must be a very old man now, which some call it 40+ (actually, 40+++) phenomenon! :D

BTW, we must have definitely met each other somewhere during our childhood, although I don't remember where... blame it on this very old age...

    :)
