I got access to buying extra season tickets before they go on sale to the public. These are playoff tickets for the buffalo sabres (NHL). Should I take the risk and buy them?

I think I might buy them, but where should I resell? I know eBay is a decent opportunity. Stubhub.com I hear sucks and herd nothing about tickets.com.

I'm interested in hearing personal opinions or experiences that you've had selling tickets.

I can honestly say Craigslist or Kijiji is your best bet, being a huge hockey nut I always look for tickets online and there are almost always people selling tickets. Its great for me, because if they're sold out people still sell on places like Kijiji or CL. You have to think like the customer, if you were searching for tickets where would you look to buy them.

    Hopefully I helped somehow!

-PS I am a Canadian for those of you that were wondering :)

Ok. I live far from where I'll be selling to them to though. Like I'm not targetting a city, I'm targeting southern Ontario and north/east USA (anywhere within 5 hours of buffalo). Kijiji can only target 1 city. I live far from everything so I would still have to mail everything and go through PayPal or something.
I'm Canadian too. However, we are season tickets holders. We drive 2 hours to each game.

Hmm.. in that case you most likely want to get rid of them all at once. Try going to the Sabres official website and click on the forum and try posting there, otherwise ebay would be a last resort but I would stay away from it.

Can't sell on Sabres website, well you can but it just counts as credits to next years tickets. So no profit, thus pointless. Why wouldn't you do Ebay?

Can you return the tickets for a higher price later on when they aren't on sale anymore? but Id say craigslist is your next best bet =)

this is risky, you risk getting stuck with the tickets. gotta do lots of research in the market you are selling. I used to sell all kinds of tickets before the recession but it dropped after that. I think I will get back into it now as I made decent coin back then. I will tell you now UFC is pretty money for scalping

Yeah, they are sold out every game pretty often now. But if I'm stuck with the tickets, I can always just go to the game. LOL

interesting, this is worth looking into. I am a big Sabres fan and they made a good run in the 2nd half. Now that they have that rich new owner looks like there has been some renewed energy pumped into that city.

I for sure will be doing this for local city, Canucks.

The games will guarantee sell out

For me the most profitable tickets will be the nosebleeds.

stubhub and ebay will get a lot of traffic to your ads as well as craigs.

How many tickets do you have access to and can u choose where they are?

I would say for round 2 you guys should come up with a plan before hand, maybe buy like 25 each or something and see how well they sell :D

I sure do miss playing hockey now =( I did a clinic with steve chelios learning to slap shot like a mad man, I was 10 and had a slap shot like a pro after he taught me haha then I moved and quit playing :(

that is a good idea, from the reading im doing there should be only a couple thousand available to the public tomorrow, all others bought by the season ticket holders. This one could bank. macdonjo3 pm me if you wanna consider doing a JV we could probably get a group together.
