I mean general support, tickets and so on, will hostgator err provide that for my clients?
What you could do is ask hostagtor for suppot on issues that your clients are asking you?
Aye that would be doable i guess, so no direct support from them, oh well that was my guess
Thanks for the fast response
Which plan are you on with hostgator if i may ask ? Plus are you planning on selling through a script so on?
I havn't decided if i should use my own dedicated server, or use an reseller option.
The plus side with reselling as i see it, no need to worry about uptime, and so on.. But still you have no way to affect it if hostgator have problems.
I have no clients at this moment, i know how i will get clients thou (gotta love offline marketing )
But when i start i will use the Aluminum plan, and just upgrade as i go along.
That's the game plan for now, might change during the week, who knows.
If you ineed of Reseller i can beat hostgators price for you and 15 day money back if there down time so on. Although we do not provide software like whmcs that up to you but I will beat there price by atleast 60% and provide support to your clients.
I'd go with a reseller account especially since you don't have clients yet.. and when you collect enough clients you can upgrade to a VPS. a dedicated server will be more of a headache then it's worth..
If you are thinking bout getting a dedi, you should look into the intel atom, I think you can get one from $40/month unmanaged.
you should also consider the added cost into getting a dedi. cPanel license, server hardening(probably included if you get fully managed) could really add to the monthly cost..
They have live chat support so why not go over to hostgator and ask them?
I asked and was told that they do not provide support directly. You would have to submit a support ticket for them.
None of the reseller packages being sold by the various hosting companies gives support for second tier clients.
Thats the very reason you can charge your clients a tad extra, and no it doesnt come free. You gotta be the person they come to and so , its a heck load of effort and not always worth it. We dont provide any hosting services for the same reason besides clients with whom we have a long term relationship with as it aint worth it.
Iframe their live chat support and make it look like its support from your company .. LOL .
well, i've been using www.prime-domain.com as registrar and hosting provider which happens to be a reseller of GD..Been using their support both phone and e-mail and veryx2 happy w the quality of srvice i'm gettin..i think the support has been given by GD itself..
I have the reseller at hostgator, and what i do is, when someone wants support. i make them fill out a ticket on my domain, and i review it, if i do not know the answer, i go straight to hostgator, that way, they don't get a wild hair up their arse, and complainto HG
Cyrus posted the most sensible idea. It's not hard to setup a ticket system on a site
EXACTLY, really simple. You just have to be the one calling in for support. The custmers cant call direct.
I guess this could turn into a hassle if you have a lot of customers. That iframe option looks pretty good, whenever i've used hostgator support they usually just ask for my domain. You could ask your customers to use your domain name?
wont work, have to verify cc on file
i mean for 25.00 you become a reseller, your gonna have to do a little work lol
if you have alot or customers, then you make lot of money and makes it worth it. For the most par the shit they need help with will be simple, unless they mess stuff up.
