    Hi guys,

I've recently started working on SEO for two clients. My first btw :) So wish me luck. Now they would like to receive an invoice which has specified the work i've done for them. How do you guys bill your cliënts?

Do you show you like the sites you put their blogs on or links? I don't really feel like showing what sites I linked them from etc. So how do you guys go about this?

    Did they specifically say

"We want an invoice with every task you've done for us"

    Or did they say

    "Invoice us your service"

If it's the latter, I think the vague "I have created web properties and distributed your web presence to relevant networks in order to increase your websites status and ranking." Would work just fine.

I'm sure they don't care, at the end of the day, the specifics. Does a plumber who fixes their pipes explain what he equipped in between their walls?

You can use invoice generator for the invoice. https://invoice-generator.com/#/2

There you can write in the comments section what you did - ORM, managing website, running social media...

Congratulations for your first SEO service.

Mentioning full detail is not required on the invoice.

You can just mention as website optimization, link building etc., It would be fine for the invoice creation.

you can use invoice generator for this. And, rather then sharing the websites you get the link from. You can only share the name of activities you have performed for your client.

And, if he asks for the website then you can share the website's URLs with the client, but not there login credentials.

I work for an agency and we never show links etc unless the client specifically asks for it.

How did you find your own 2 clients btw?

Tip for when you grow bigger with more clients!!

In your Proposal make it clear that your time is about getting results, the reporting is rankings and analytics and your time as a consultant... If you've spoken on the phone, you don't need to report as such.. Just chuck over quick examples but focus on the TRAFFIC and help them convert it..
