I have a website that expired with a decent amount of content and organic traffic on it. I've got in touch with the domain provider today to renew it. My question is will I get all my content back or is it going to be a fresh domain?

Your content is on the hosting, or if you had a backup. As long as you add the same content, the organic traffic should be there, but not like before. It won't be a fresh domain, since it was already registered.

The hosting and domain registrar are different. Names.co.uk is domain and I hosted it using siteground

alright, as soon as you get your domain back, change your nameservers back to the ones you have on your hosting company, and you will have all your data back. Or has your hosting also expired? In that case, you should ask your host if they have a backup of your data

Renew the domain and you're fine. Just keep an eye on your hosting and don't forget to pay for that.

Contacted the hosting unfortunately there was no backup for the site. Shame.

Thanks for the help

If you're not sure where your hosting is located, you can enter your domain on whois.com to see which hosting provider's name servers are being used.

Ok so your hosting also had expired and you did not renew.
Try wayback to see if your website is archived if so you can get build it again.
