[Renewing Domains] How Long Do You Extend?

Well, since the day I started IM and whenever I need to renew my webhosting or domains, I usually just extend for 1 more year.
And of course when the time is about to end, I would extend another year again.

I actually thought that I would have to give up IM due to Penguin's massive slap. Surprisingly, my sites are all recovering and rapidly.
So I'm contemplating whether to just extend my webhost for 2 or 3 years than just 1 year since it would be cheaper (For 1 year plan: $8.99 per month; For 2 years plan: $7.99 per month; For 3 years: $6.99 per month).

How long do you guys extend? Just curious to know.

It's completely upto you, if you think you would continue with that site or project in the future then you should subscribe it for 2-3 years or more or vice versa.

Sames goes with Hosting as well. I normally buy my domains for 2-4 years depending on the project (Regarding hosting I don't bother as I own my own hosting company :D)

Thanks buddy.

I would like to add that there are some people whom said that Google also scans through your domain expiration duration too... because spammers usually register for 1 year or so. Some claim that when they extend 3-5 years or more, Google trusts your domain more.

Don't know if that's true... lol... there's so many theories which can never be proved.

Look, domains barely cost $5-10 (depending on promotions and stuffs) so if you purchase a domain for 3 years, it would barely cost you $15-30 which isn't huge.

I ain't sure about if Google Reads the domain registration date and even if they do, that won't really make a huge difference. Furthermost, it completely depends on you for how long you would be continuing with a certain project.

The only way to know is to test it yourself As for me, I do yearly renewal. It would different if my site is earning 1K+ per day, I might renew it for 10 years :)

Yearly renewal for me, no problem. Ranking is still the same.

I do 2 years registration. And for domains that I am sure about, I go for 3 years.
