Removing steps on FBML page

I'm sure most of you are familiar with the FBML pages, and how they usually have 3 steps:

1) Become a fan
2) Invite all your friends
3) Link to site to make money from ;)

Now, once your page goes viral, do you guys still leave Step 1 & Step 2? Or do you remove them? Does that increase conversions?

I'd leave them on. The reason they become viral is becaise of step 1 and 2.. first people become fans, then they invite ALL their friends .. its this step that makes the page keep growing.. plus, once someone has visited your site once, they will most likely not visit again unless they are really insterested.
 
Does any one gonna share those step code, I can pay for that.
 
I have it and could trade you the code..maybe for some invites to a couple of my fan pages?
 
What does 3 steps mean? does user have to become a fan and invite friends before accessing the app? or just button on your app page?
Can someone point me to any 3 step Facebook app example?

I am having problem with my fan page. In step2 even if you select one friend or no friend is selected and you click on send invitations the step3 is shown.

Is there a way that until all friends are not selected you cannot be shown step3.

Please do advice.

It says "Step 1: Become a member".
And when they click the button, step 2 is revealed.

Then step 2 pops up and it says "Step 2: Invite your friends"
And then you click the invite friends button and invite friends.

Then step 3 pops up and it says "Step 3: Claim..."
And theres a claim button with a link to your offer etc.
 
thanks for the info Peter, but I don't get what's the motivation behind going through all those steps just to see link to an offer.
 
Instead of giving them the offer up straight, you get them to invite their friends first, meaning their friends may invite their etc. causing a chain reaction :)
 
I understand that, but I meant motivation of a user doing all that inviting
 
omg to answer your question since no one here seems to be able to read... the motivation is the free gift card, or dell or shopping spree. etc
 
I think when your page goes viral like 2,000 fans then I think testing removing the invite friends will be beneficial because when people see the invite friends thing they press back lol. so u gain a fan but lose a conversion.

And plus these pages only last a few days before getting deleted.
 
I'm noticing that this step scares away a lot of people too, nobody wants to be that person that sends retarded invites. Its gonna show up in their friends feeds regardless if they were invited, Anyone know where to take this step out? If I notice better conversions i'll be sure to let you all know.

My page has been up for 3 weeks lol.
 
hey i have the code and everything set up, i just modified some stuff, i was wondering how do i change the link to the step 3 portion to my own CPA offer, if someone could help, thanks...
