sorry guys this is my 2nd question on the forum today, but anyway..

i have been following the great guide by phpbuilt on authority site building.. and now i am trying to remove the author page and links completley from my site to avoid google penalising me for dupe content..

how is this done? where can i find the php code for my author link, i thought i might be able to CTL + G "author" in functions.php and single posts.php but author is quoted many times and TBH i don't really know what i am looking for..

any help given would be truly appreciated!

Try using "What the File" plugin to find the file. Does your theme have its own discussion board? That's how I found how to fix some WMT errors.

You can remove the author links yourself or by contacting the developer. You are bound to receive a quick response if it is a premium theme.

The author link usually appears as a result of a line of code that contains something like 'get author' in the single.php file. You may also find something similar in the index.php file if you want to remove the author links from your blog posts page.

Better still, you can just change your theme to one that doesn't show author links.

You don't even need to remove the author links to avoid duplicate content. Just install 'All In One SEO Pack' and tick the checkbox next to 'noindex author archives' and the author pages will not be indexed, so no duplicate content.
