Long story short I'm doing some SEO work for a client whose rankings are dropping faster than a bomb. Ran their site through ahrefs and it has 60% sitewides for inbounds, and ALL of these sitewides come from other sites that they own and there is literally zero anchor text variation (every. single. sitewide has a one-word anchor text... and they've even been using hidden sitewides on some sites with font that matches bg color).

Do you reckon telling them to delete the offending links in one go will cause any penalty? Or is it the appropriate course of action right now?

It can only help. Or you can just make them nofollow links.

Think I'll just get them to delete the entire load of links... these sites I'm working on are a total clusterf**k lol
