    Hey all

So I hav this VPS and am trying to connect to it via remote desktop. But it doesnt work here. I'm trying to connect from my college and internet here works from behind a proxy server. I dont understand how to connect now. I tried entering the proxy ip that I enter in firefox to surf the internet as a TS gateway and that doesnt work at all. Any other way you guys know of? Would really appreciate if you could help me out!

    Thanks!

The college may have blocked certain ports that remote desktop needs to work.

I agree with wargamer, If you are behind a proxy and can't connect, your firewall is likely blocking port 3389 outgoing.

    To resolve this you can:
    a) nicely ask you network administrator to unblock it.
    b) Can you use ftp, ssh, or any other protocols besides http? If so, see if you can have your vps configured to listen on a different port (one you that's not blocked).
