    Dear fine people,

I found a few domains that I would like to buy including a .fr (France), .it (Italy), .de (Germany), .fr (Finland), .dk (Danemark), .mc (Monaco) and .ie (Ireland).

Most of them, if not all, ask that you have a residence in the European Union and that you provide an ID number. I had a few questions:

1- Is it safe to provide fake information? (fake name, address, phone, etc.)
2- What are the chances of registrars doing an audit?
3- Are there better domain name registrar to register a European domain with fake info?
4- Any other idea of what I could do?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Many countries require the registering entity either be based in the said country, or have listed business there, so mostly you cannot just register domains like that.

You just use a proxy service some Registrars provide. I've done this a number of times. BTW .it is a nightmare to transfer/sale SO always setup a completely separate Registrar account for this Domain Registration. This way if you ever end up selling it you provide the entire account with the single Domain to the buyer.

Hit me up PM and I'll give you a hand.
