I am planning to launch a website in the next few weeks and I am tried searching for some expired domains and 3 of them caught my attention. Here are their stats

Domain A

According to Majestic Seo
Trust Flow - 10
Citation Flow - 6
External Backlinks - 32

According to Open Site Explorer
Domain Autority - 8
Page Authority 1

Domain B
According to Majestic Seo
Trust Flow - 0
Citation Flow - 5
External Backlinks - 69

According to Open Site Explorer
Domain Autority - 9
Page Authority 1

Domain C is a brand new domain. Never been registered.

All domains are brandable and all are on .com . Question is. What domain should I choose base on the stats? Thanks in advance.

Those expired domains are no going to help you rank your site faster.
Look for DA 30+ and couple hundred non-spammy backlinks for an expired domain.

TrustFlow is important too.If a website haves a low number of links but good metrics such as PA above 25,DA above 25,TrustFlow above 10-15 as well as citation flow around 5-10,that's a golden nugget.

Keep both of our advices in mind.

Cheers

Thank you all for your advices. I still can't decide which domain to register because of the mix feedback. Any other inputs to help me decide? Thanks

I'd go with domain c
because it would be a nice start on learning how to rank the site. The other choices are easily achievable.
Domain c would mean you could get the name that you want and that's important

Would it also be fine if I get the other 2 domains and build a dummy website and point links from it going to Domain C?

Pro tip:

Make sure to check both www and non www version of the domain in OSE and Majestic. The metrics will be different based on how the previous owner used the domain - if he used the www version and got links to the www version, you are better off setting up everything on www as well.

Especially in OSE, if you see DA = 10+ and PA = 1, check the www version. PA = 1 should not happen to a domain if DA = 10+ unless he does not have links to that page - either he has only internal links which boosts his DA, or he uses a different page as home page.

Other than that, your metrics are pretty weak, try to search for better domains.

My rule of thumb for a good expired domain:

Sum of PRx10 + DA (from OSE) + PA (from OSE) + TF (from majestic) + CF (from majestic)> 80

I am able to find daily such domains from expireddomains.net

Good luck.

What do you mean by sum of PRx10?

Any other input to those who really know how expired page rank works? I am still looking for other inputs. Thanks for those who gave theirs.

If the domains are related to your niche, I'd advise to go for A, otherwise a brand new domain will be better.

I would go with a new domain (domain C) because the domain metrics you have for domains A and B are pretty low - I dont think they will help your website rank all that much and you may have missed some spammy back links to them that would do more harm then good

Your metrics for them expired domains are too low, the metrics you want to shoot for are : DA20+ pa15+ Trust 15+ citation 15+. The domain names you have will take a lot of time to build, it's best if you use that time looking for expired domain names with good metrics.
